I seem to have accidentally made a poo in Strava art today. I guess I won't be riding that route again.

I used the carb word and the service manager nodded. You are likely correct. It was an odd looking carb. I take this to mean carbs are obsolete. News to me. It must have to do with fuel injection. That's where I ceased to understand the workings of the internal combustion engine.
With only one exception (afaik) GM had no carburetors after 1986. Don't know about Honda.

What triggered me were the posts earlier today, which I've seen plenty of times before, about one needing to get a bike whose appearance will motivate the owner to ride.
I suppose the newness factor might work for a month or so, but not long-term.
Can one like the way a tool looks? Sure. Can one develop a connection with the way the tool performs, responds to the user's efforts? Yes.
But the passion doesn't come from aesthetics. Take the Stradivarius away from the virtuoso and she'll still want to practice.
Imagine going to a running forum and reading posts about a shoe speaking to you, making you want to run.
Silly.

Shouldn't be a problem . . . if you're prepared to pay for it.

In other footwear news, anyone ever try any Danish Endurance gear? I could use some spicier medium weight wool socks and like the looks of these, wonder how they last...

I just picked up the Kinarva 13s too! This is my first foray into Sauconys and if the Kinarvas are as good as the Endorphin Speed 3s, I’ll be very happy. I’ve been a Brooks person for a while and might still get the new Ghost 15s, but the Sauconys are hitting all the right notes so far.
NB road minimus are a little too minimus. I have a pair of On Cloudflow now which the specialty running store “fit” me for, but I’m always searching for something with a different feel.
it took me 5 years post hip surgery to be able to run pain free so I should probably revisit some of those other shoes again

I was a Brooks person for a really long time. I can’t remember the shoe (either pure cadence or pure flow- whichever had the 4mm drop) was discontinued in like 2019 and I’ve been searching since.

I wish New Balance worked for me - never has. Just doesn’t fit my foot correctly. It’s a shame because they’re a Boston company and my wife coaches a running camp in the summer that’s sponsored by them, so she gets a free pair of shoes each year (and she doesn’t mesh well with their shoes either).
Their building in the side of the Pike is awesome

I was going to say I'd use them for walking if they still had some made in the US, but then I went and looked and apparently they do still, or again. Time to order...

By the time I was done getting my blood drawn I was no longer craving coffee. Is it that easy to quit? I went ahead and drank what I'd brought with me though.
