This might be the first frame I'm genuinely embarrassed to offer here, but it's taking up room in my shed and I got the stuck bits out of it, so here goes:

This is a 54cm (CTC, seatube) Marinoni rustbucket that I picked up along with a bunch of other unloved soon-to-be scrap at a now-defunct LBS, which also functioned as a semi-co-op and was filled with old steel - much of it gaspipe with a few nice surprises...like this. I'll wait until you've finished laughing.

Just tonight, I just managed to get the stuck seatpost and stem out of this one a lot easier than I had bargained for. Nevertheless, it's still a rusty pile and it's turned into more than I can chew. Plus, I don't fit 54cm, but bikes with Prugnat lugs will be saved from the scrapper's torch, dammit! I can't possibly begin to explain the state of this bike, other than it's not entirely an incorrect artistic representation of the state of the union.

Oh, and just to make this prize package even better, the freaking thing isn't even full SL, it's TreTubi. Whoopiee. Not that that's ever spoiled my fun with a Columbus frame, but still another bummer to add to the list of bumminskos.

Jokes aside, I must disclose that the downtube is very rough, and some would definitely categorize it as being in the Department of Full Sketch. There's a lot of crustiness down here. However, I've applied significant force with my thumbs to see if it'll cave in, and by some miracle, the tubing appears to be solid. What's more, if someone is really unsure about it, I can probably clean all of it up and have the downtube pits filled with silver braze if one really wants.

$75 + shipping, PP or MO, and I'll even throw in the bits in my Worst Shimano 600 Partial Group Ever listing that came off this piece of abandoned Canadian office furni fine craftsmanship, because when you've got the cojones to ask $75 buckaroos for a pile of certified bovine bolshoy like this, some perks just gotta come with it to soften the blow.

No, I have no shame. But unlike most eBay sellers, I'll at least admit to it.

Thanks. I've been helping out one of the LBSes with repair advice and they've tried an OA bath on a frame already, so might just go ahead and OA bath it anyway. If so, will probably do the silver repairs as well.

Have to agree with unworthy1. OA bath, a little scrubbing, careful media blasting & a proper powder coating will make it an excellent regular rider. It’s my size, but too many winter projects in the queue.

A media blasting likely is in order, even with an OA bath, just to get to those spiders under the paint. My Eisentraut was a similar basket case prior to bead blasting.

I recently had a frame shipped to me, and the seller used a tv box. With those dimensions, shipping using Bike Flights was $30 from Washington to CA, just for reference.

If I go the OA route, I'm definitely taking the mini Dremel wire brush to every spot of rot on this thing, if not strip it entirely. No point in going that far if not all the way!

Well, that looks looks like a doable winter project for somebody. And for the money? A steal. Too small for me, or I'd take it on just for the hell of it. Mainly looks like out-of-control surface rust. Look at the BB threads! Clean; how do the insides of the stays look?

If someone here buys this, please do a thread on the process of bringing it back. It deserves a refinish and to be ridden once again..

Sadly, the chrome is shot but the bike, otherwise, is probably sound. Marinoni bikes are very well made and sought after in Canada. Were it my size, I would jump on it at the price offered. Then, I would simply paint the bike, chrome and all to get something like this...

The thing is my size. Jdawg sent me a note about it this AM. Even though I am not searching for another project, and a moratorium on spending until the two Italians (Pino, and Guerc) leave, I suspect The crew at Pro Kote Indy can salvage it. I do have plenty of Campy NR trade bait, and like I said moratorium on spending right now. As always, Gimme a call 812-336-3283 and we will work something out.
Now about that ran when parked; more like a rollscanhardly! Rolls down hill and you can hardly push it back up the hill. I suspect the down tube won't need any material added, just some PKI love. Smiles, MH

Just kidding, of course. And anyway, I just found the frame for what will likely be my last project for the next year or two.

This frame will end up a really nice ride for somebody. Whoever ends up with it is one lucky guy/gal.
