Googled it, and ugh -- too busy and ugly and 'LOOK AT ME I'M A MAN WITH A MANLY WATCH'. I prefer something more understated and classic.

For me, there is only one G-Shock watch, and it looks like this:

Bikes: This list got too long: several ‘bents, an urban utility e-bike, and a dahon D7 that my daughter has absconded with.

I definitely do understand that. That is what kept me away from the line for several years. It is also why there is nothing in their current line that appeals to me. I would like them to introduce, or reintroduce, some more tastefully sized watches. They do have some; but none are solar-atomic.

Up until I started wearing G-Shock watches, almost exclusively, I generally wore a Glycine Airman 18 (36mm) and a small citizen (34mm); so you can probably see how hard a sell it was for me to go G-Shock. I was sold on the features, I still dislike the size.

The one I posted previously is way smaller than the oversized monstrosities Casio currently markets as the G-shock line.

For instance, this sucker is nearly 60mm diameter, where that original one I posted is 45mm across...

Oversized watches are particularly trendy right now. I don't get it. Flava Flav should start a watch company before the fad dies

Not into it, either. But I get the whole status symbol / "My watch is bigger than your watch" power dynamic. My Seiko 5 is 37mm diameter...

Sizing (diameter) of watches is somewhat vague too. My Seiko Monster, which I love, is about as big as I'd like to go.

I don't get it either. I wear a watch to time things for work, and don't miss it when I'm not working.

Aw, crap. Found watchuseek forums and got the bug. Ima blame @ahsposo, at least in part.

Luch (Belarus) one-hander. Hand-wind, more novelty than anything else...

Zelos (microbrand, Hong Kong) Mako, bronze case diver.

Buwahahaha! You're hooked! @mconlonx

But as far as being an enabler I'm just a begginner. On Omega Forums there are some real pro enablers. Those guys don't fool around.

Here are a few more of my watches:

BTW, that bronze diver is pretty cool. A lot of style there and probably a pretty good timepiece, too. The one hander is very good looking but would probably drive me crazy every time I looked at it. A very short drive to be sure, but still...

I got another one.

Sniped off eBay for $9.01. Keeps pretty good time, usually within 1min/day

Yeah, fell in love with the Zelos first time I saw it. Obsessed about it. Scraped money together to buy it... Good reviews about the microbrand, and a Swiss Sellita SW200 movement, which also gets decent reviews. Not keen on the huge divers, so 40mm case is perfect. Loving it. But maybe wish instead of the batman bezel insert, I'd held out for the bronze bezel... Got the one-hander on a lark and it's a fun piece. Also picked up a Chinese San Martin bronze pilot watch -- decent enough quality, but I'm not sure 42mm is right for me...

So, the short list I'm looking to get includes a GMT (that Omega, drool...), a sport/dress watch, and something dressy and vintage. Chronos do nothing for me. Yet. And aside from the bronze, not too far into divers... although I've been tip-toeing around the whole Seiko diver insanity, thinking a SKX013 might just do the trick, especially a 12hr bezel mod for a ghetto dual-time function...

Wow, this thread is like the Energizer bunny!

I've not posted this recent purchase, a Ball Engineer 2 Arabic. With Ball, of course, the luminescence of the tritium gas tubes is unbelievable:

I have a 17 dollar casio analog that keeps as good as time as my $200+ casio mudmaster. Doesn't have all the extras but all I really do is look at the time anyways.

Any quartz watch keeps time just about as well as any other.

Traded the Zelos for this:

Currently set for local time, GMT hand at GMT, bezel set for Tallinn, Estonia off GMT hand.
