That happened with me, the stings generally became less of a problem. Same with poison oak except one time I went trudging through some brush and the poison oak got wrapped around my lower leg. Got pretty itchy that time.

My advice is avoid stings, but if you must get stung, do so near a hospital.

Last time I got stung it was in my right thumb near the base. It didn't swell much. More like a small welt. But brother did it hurt! My thumb was on fire for an hour or so. Then it just started to ease up. By the time I was done riding, my thumb was fine, except for the stinger sight. That was sore for a day or 2.

Pretty much why I’m trying to fly under the radar without much success. I do wake up at 4:45-5:00am, but I do have a ~10 miles commute.
* I get up a bit earlier than that when morning weather is around forties, but that is the best kind of commute: on the bike.

I used to have to drive 6 to 7 hours one way to work. So 14 hours a week. I could have flown but the flights were always full and after getting stuck several times I started driving.

She's a stone cold Beaotch! Don't tell her I said that though.
When I used to ride solo, I would always warm up a bit before any hard effort. That's why I was surprised to learn that no self respecting cyclist does warm ups, or even knows what that term is. Around here anyways. There just is no such thing. We leave the gate, instantly to 110% on the reactor. It used to piss me off. But I have adjusted to it. It feels like after a few minutes that things get easier. Speeds might actually go up. I figured out its your body warming to the effort. We used to have a Saturday hammer ride. I noticed every week, at the same place, I was always ready to give up, but 5 minutes later I was having a blast.
It is funny to watch new people the first few times when it happens. Mouth open, gasping for air, eyes almost as big as their mouth.

Sounds exactly like the very first shop ride I went to. Large group, getting ready to start, and the ride leader goes
“just for newcomers, we are safe and stop at every stop sign, every red light, I don’t want anyone from this group getting us in trouble with the drivers and the police. We’re going to start slow and ramp it up”
I says to myself “yay, this looks like it’s going to be a nice ride!” We start at a breakneck pace, and as we approach a stop sign I say to myself “oh chance for a breather” just to see everyone storming past without even slowing down.
let’s just say, it was a good year or two before I attempted another group ride again. At a different shop of course.
