Any current interest in a Group Buy on 50+ Kit?

I have corresponded with @cccorlew about another 50+ Kit Group Buy offering, and it is possible for me to administrate one now. If there enough interested in a fresh or new 50+ jersey, shorts, tights, wind vest, or wind jacket, I will put the order thread in action.

This is not the Order Thread

Just tell me if you are interested in seeing the order process and what Curtis' design looks like in kit pieces. Not going to go through a lot of questions in this thread, just testing the waters for piranhas and gators, for now. Actual prices of each item, the order and payment process, pictures of the jerseys, and a link to CS for your use, will be included in the Order Thread. I will let this run for 1 week, the if it looks viable, its a go (strictly my decision.)

Champion System is where Curtis has set up the design proofs, and they have converted the proof designs to their new product lines. No changes to the design, or a move away from Champion System as the vendor will be entertained.

In the past several times there have been some questions about having other numerals, representing older age groups done. The "50+" is strictly what is used in this group buy process. Curtis established this tradition in 2008, and it is for this forum's screen name, 50+. The proofs aren't free, they were set up by Curtis and paid for at that time, its expensive and time consuming to go through the process and the Forum's name isn't anything else, and attempts to set up new, age distinct fora, have been turned down by the powers that be. Please don't ask, it will not even be addressed here.

No Christmas delivery guarantees are offered, the time frame is totally dependent on their volume at the time we submit our order. The program used is the CS10 offering, a 10 piece minimum for that price is required. Champion System | Custom Clothing Design | Apparel It is their fairest and least expensive offering. Using the individual purchase option they have nearly doubles the prices of each item. And time frames are longer that way also.

Thanks for any interest shown, the last time I was privileged to administrate the Group Buy, was summer 2015, it was gratifying for me to read the replies as people received their kit. Here is a link to that Group Buy thread (now closed) ignore the prices please. https://www.bikeforums.net/fifty-plu...group-buy.html

Bill

Edit: Should anyone have pictures of themselves in a 50+ jersey or any other kit pieces, feel free to post them here.

Not me. I think the fact we have time to ride says we are over fifty. It's those that are less than fifty that need identifying.

I'll be 51 in 3 weeks, but I'd consider it. I like the ones from the older post. I'd sport one.

They are the same design, the product lines were changed somewhat to bring features to their entry level attire from the high end products. The appearance will be the same as previous kit here. The 50 numerals reflects the Forum’s name, and not a specific age.

To each their own as to whether or not you wish to order and wear one. But why the need to tell me you don’t need or want anything to do with the group buy. Oh well

I'm in.

I've lost significant weight since the last group buy (and that's a good thing!) so my 50 Plus jersey is kind of big on me now. Time to get one that fits correctly!

I say I'd consider buying one. I like the look of the original designs. They should be shown for people that didn't order one originally in the past, btw.

How did you extrapolate the "don't want or need anything to do with the group" from that?

Me? Because I quite frequently try to inject some humor. Albeit not very understood or amusing humor many times.

I suppose I could have left off the "not me" part. But I didn't want you to be unsure where I stood. I also do not believe in the idea that thread topics have to be strictly adhered to. But there is a point where both humor and off topic discussion gets out of hand. And that is hard to judge until it happens.

Email, texts, and forums, are so easily taken out of context at times. There's no real way around it. Shame actually.

Not intended at you @Slick Madone, apologies for not separating my comments.,

@Iride01, no harm-no foul, happens all the time here.

Much appreciated Benny, and there are two pics in the linked post from the 2015 group buy also.

So I need to ask, as a Clyde, will the 3x or 4x fit true to size or will they be smaller?

No thanks. I will be 53 in March. I look way younger. Don't want to clue the younger ladies in to my real decade.

Clyde status covers a wide variety of sizes, depending on your personal dimensions The cut ,or tailoring, is towards the tight side of fitting. The best thing to do is look at the Champion System website and use their fitting guide to determine your best bet.

My first jersey was a 2XL, at the time I was 250 lbs, chest measurement was 50”, I used cccorlew’s advice and got the looser cut Club Cut option. It was a bit tight at first, but not uncomfortably so. Now, below 200 lbs I like the XL, club cut for my size. Chest is down to 42” and I like slightly looser fit than seven years ago.

I didn’t receive but a few 3XL orders in 2015 and no 4XL, so I cannot speak to how others liked that size. I can look into a size sample to look at but that is me trying to say how you like a particular tailoring and size. Let me see what I can find out, if the website is not helpful for you.

I have one of the original 50+ jerseys and I like it but I would prefer full-zip. I know Champion makes full-zip but I didn't see this aspect address above.

So, yes, will want one if full-zip but will not want another 3/4 zip. Maybe we would need 10+ full-zip orders before it became viable.
