When it comes to beer I always choose a Porter, if I have the option. This is has been my hands-down favorite for the last 15 years.

Not much of a drinker myself and have not found a beer I like, ever. I do like the harder stuff but pretty much leave it alone. I do make a lot of liqueur's for friends and such. Usually using my apples or local wild plums or cherries. I really like the Apple liqueur but haven't made a batch in several years. Oh and I always try to keep a batch of Elderberry/rosehip liqueur on hand for the times I feel a little sick. Clears up the flu in two days match. I also made some booze out of elderberry flowers one year that I didn't like at first but after about 3 years it was really good.
That said I do have this one bottle of the apple booze left over from my 2013 batch "aging" in the cold storage room. The rest of the batch was really good, one of these days I'll crack this open to see if it gotten even better with age.
I live in a town named Eden so I had to play with that and the biblical apple connection, LOL!

Id rather have one good beer like this than 3 or 4
Soo many great micro breweries now and CA and TX has some of my fav's.
Martin House in FW not only produces outstanding beers but the can artwork is top notch.

Very much this. And if I’m going to indulge I’ll have an Orange Crush or A&W Root Beer. My indulging has been curtailed greatly these past 9 months. By reducing my sugar intake by 95% I’ve lost a bunch of weight(30lbs). That and biking has led to better fitness and feeling better than I did ten years ago.
Why did I bother to post in an adult beverage thread? I’ll be 6 years sober May 27th. Between that and my return to biking and participating here on BF I’m feeling pretty good about myself on this particular day.
All that bs aside. When I did partake in moderation (almost never that) I did enjoy a good stout such as a Guiness off the tap.

white port is hard to find here in the USA. Even alcohol centric Portland Oregon.
but, when I toured Portugal (north to south) the average low ish alcohol cocktail was white port, tonic and a squeeze of lime.
luckily I’m meeting some fellow C&Vers at John’s Market (SE Powell, not SW Gugie-land) and was pleasantly surprised to not only find white port, but Kopke, a family owned one that is my fav.
