77 Peugeot PX10

best I can tell is all original
have had for about 10 years and never getting to this project with others ahead in the queue
needs a full resto but paint is good save for some minor surface rust in few spots

not sure what to ask, but assume NYC/Long Island market

In its current state $125-175, for the big city, depending on the condition of the wheels, bb and hs, could be less if the bearing sets sound like rocks.

I sold one in similar shape, a few years older, at $150, but it had a dinged rim(toast) and the bearing sets were not rebuilt but was still smooth spinners. I did polish the frame and addressed the rust on shifters. The buyer was a French bike flipper.

While really nice bike with a great looking frame set it needs a tone of work tires and new consumables brake pads cables bar tape and maybe some parts. So I would say in your area start at $300 and be willing to take $250 if you want it to move. To get full market value out of the bike of $400-500 would take doing the full resto and a bit of marketing so you probably better off selling it as at the lower end of the price range as a as is project bike.

In good shape and running order, PX 10s can be found for $400-$500. The OP lives in NYC where prices will be but this bike needs work. It also has a number of desireable parts since the RD is aluminum and the stronglight 99 crank which came stock on the late 70s PX 10s is a plus as it is easy to mod this to get good hill climbing gears.

I'd clean off the grime, put on fresh tape, and ask $400.

Beautiful! Thats a spit and a polish bike. Buff out the frame to a nice shine. New white bar tape. Glue some fresh rubber on the rims. $500 all day long.

I'd buy this bike in a heartbeat at $200 and I already own a PX 10.

Thanks for the opinions all. Def not worth my time to make at most a few measly 100. I’ll prob just donate to my local bike rescue. Def lots of crud on it, and I wouldn’t sell in good conscience with just a shine and new tape. The volunteer mechanics need stuff that’s worthwhile to wrench on.

The one for $100 sold quickly

the one for $250 or best offer has been sitting

Only two data points but…

The simplex dropout was modified to accept the Campy RD

Pretty hard to find but campy did offer a adapter for Simplex/Huret drops in the 70's.

By the early 80s, the simplex dropout was modified so that it would work with a campy RD as well as a Simplex. My 1982 PXN10 has one of those drop outs. By the 80s, the parts were overall a little nicer as well.

Paid $37.50 for it in rough shape. Sold for $325 (I think) after a complete rebuild/refinish.
