New from Rhode Island, is this a good deal?
Good morning everyone, happy to report in from Rhode Island. Have always been a mountain biker but just recently getting into road biking. I'm not entirely sure if this is the appropriate place to post; I am about to purchase a 2010 Felt F5 Garmin Edition in the size I need. It has not been altered at all and it looks like it has not been used in the slightest, when I say slightest, I mean hardly ever. My question to the community; at $600, with the nice 105 components and factoring in the age of the bike, am I foolish? I understand this isn't giving you much to go off of, I hoped anyone with personal experience with Felt and the F5 could lend some advice. Haha, thank you everyone for taking the time to read and perhaps reply. Hope everyone is doing well!

Thanks everyone for the replies. I picked up the bike yesterday, bringing it to my LBS tomorrow to get a once over and I cannot wait to get out there.

I'm in Bristol. The bike club in these parts in Narragansett Bay Wheelmen and has been around since before 1900. When group rides start up again, those rides are a good way to learn the best cycling routes. In the past there has been a club ride every Sunday, usually a choice of say, 35 miles, 55 miles or 75 miles so a ride for every ability. There has been in the past a coffee shop ride Saturday AM from E. Providence to Bristol of 27 miles. In the meantime, until group rides get going again, take a look at the club website and the list of maps for ideas on where to ride. As you can see, just about the entire state has been mapped out for suitable rides. Narragansett Bay Wheelmen

I can't wait to get out there with a group because any of my friends who bike only trail ride. I live in Narragansett so I'm eager to learn new routes. I appreciate you reaching out.

Welcome aboard! I'm in SE MA. Bought a Jamis Allegro Sport earlier this year in Warren at the shop that's right on the bike path. Needed an update from my 20+ yr old Specialized Hardrock when I decided to get back into biking. While it's a great hybrid bike, I'm itching to pick up a road bike for longer rides.

You've got a lot of good routes in the Narragansett area. Ocean Rd is nice. It's easy to get from the area of the Towers to Wickford. South County Trail is a popular ride. I'm in Cranston and have a few good options around here but I'm kind of envious of what you have. You'll figure it out.

Yeah, I live right along Narrow River so it's nice and close to route 1A. Can't wait, hopefully the weather allows for some late season riding!

Welcome to the forum! Lots of good riding in Southern Rhode Island. Ocean road is a very nice one. I am from North Scituate myself but I live in Kentucky now. I just rode from the Massachusetts border to Charleston in August.
