im resting today.

Did critical mass yesterday for the first time and it was kick ass. Rode pretty hard throughout but unfortunately for my friend, his back tube got a puncture and he was consumed about 15 minutes into the ride. I lost him and kept riding for an hour and a half. Almost ate **** when the guy who was in front of me collided with the guy beside him. Funny thing was that I didn't even move to the side. As the guy fell, he kind of landed on one of his feet and dragged the bike away to the side as he fell so I narrowly escaped plowing into his bike and flying over the bars. Long story short, I had to pick up my friends who got left behind that night and then we partied.

Went out riding in NYC today and saw a fellow BD bike owner - black Windsor w/ freewheel attached, bullhorns and white bar tape. Anyone here?

Did my first time trial today! I did the best I could, so I'm happy. I made the mistake of riding all the way there... halfway by myself, the other half with the local cycling club. With the group, I averaged about 21mph. I stayed toward the front and even pulled for a mile or so. I was pretty much toast by the time I got to the start line. 5, 4, 3, 2, 1, GO!! OUCH lactic acid. Only 9 more miles of grueling agony. I averaged about 20mph, which is good given my condition at the time and the condition of my bike. I tried to ride with the group back to town and got dropped like a hot potato a couple of miles in. Great day so far... now I'm going to get drunk and go skateboarding for the first time in months.

tuned my bike up from my crash on wednesday. I lucked out and my wheels are still true.
Bought new bar tape and wrapped the left side of my bars.

I think I swallowed all of him but his stinger, which was stuck in my lip and took a while to lodge out with my tongue actually. I was on an overpass, lots of wind and lots of fast cars so I couldn't stop. When I spit what was left in my mouth out there didn't seem to be a lot of him left though

Today I: Impromptu 13 mile ride out the spring water corridor (ended up taking max home). Tomorrow my buddy and I will try and tackle the 40 mile trail. Still not sure if I should ride fixed or geared.

This ride was quite nice. My fellow rider was on a single speed and we definitely had a good pace. Her freewheel is noisy as hell tho, so at least I knew where she was. Found myself at the waterfront again, and I have to say it is a very nice day to dip your feet in the water. It's odd that I can't even remember the last time I actually put my feet in water like that... Let alone the last time I touched the earth with my bare feet...

Quite a nice place to stop and enjoy the air.

Today I busted the DJ after two laps on the pumptrack. I don't think I'm going to be rebuilding, went and got 40 miles in since my original plans were shot to smithereens.

Like I mentioned in the Leader forum, I really would love to find a bit higher rise, but the PDW lock-on grips fit nicely between my thumb and fingers and the bike feels quite nice over the (fairly smooth) bike path. Not quite sure how comfortable it would be over 40 miles, but its definitely doable up to 20.

Today, instead of going on my group ride, I biked all over San Diego with my wife on our fixed gear bikes. We had a great time, you guys will not believe how much more you will take in from a slow bike ride vs. say a fast one. Mission Bay, Old town, downtown, Balboa Park, and Horton plaza on the return trip. Knowing my wife, she picked up a few things at Horton plaza and I'm quite thankful for my VO porteur rack and it's capacity, I have a feeling that it's easily going to earn well over its cost.
Funny thing is we used the bike route and my usual group called me out while they were on their return trip back when we were heading out.
One thing I have to point out is my wife did not complain at all during the trip despite the fact that this was her second ride on a new out of the box brooks.
