Bianchi Pista crankset replacement?

Hey guys,

I decided to finally bite the bullet and purchased myself an '09 Bianchi Pista off of eBay the other day. While rummaging around this forum(as well as wherever Google happened to lead me), I've found that the general opinion is that the drivetrain as a whole is rather sub-par. Namely in regards to the Truativ Tuoro crankset. What do you suggest as a good replacement crankset? I ride my other bicycles pretty hard as commuters, and I'm kind of fearful of the TT's track record.

They came stock on my Kilo and I've had no problems with them at all. I'd say just get the bike and ride it first and then if a problem develops replace them.

I hear a lot of good things about SRAM omniums, might want to look into those. If you're willing to shell out the bucks, Sugino 75's are supposedly the ****. Never ridden on either but they are popular.

There's nothing wrong with Touros and most people only talk smack on them because they think they're ugly. I had mine for two years, never had a single problem with them and actually liked the way they looked.

Nothing wrong with the Truvativ Touro cranks, unless you prefer a different length than what it comes with.

agreed.
truvativ touro are very nice, rode them for three years, still ride them, no problems at all.
read this if you want scientific verification that all cranks are plenty stiff enough for you:

Excellent reading. Thank you for the article. This puts aside all of my doubts about TT's. Thank you everyone for your contributions.

Touros are pretty decent cranks. The only reason I replaced the ones on my lady's Kilo is because I got a steezier crankset for free.
