That's a serious piece of resistance. God how I love DA 7400... (except the brifters, bar-ends or DT shifters for me!).
Suggestions:
1. Polish crankset, or at least clean her up.
2. Get the dust covers for the crankset, dramatically changes the look IMHO. Shimano also managed to sneak more "Dura-Ace" print onto them, and that can't be a bad thing.
3. Get the DA 7410 seatpost and the limited edition DA stem (made by Nitto). If you're going to have a Ti frame you might as well go all the way with the components.
4. completely black wheels (spokes/hubs), as well as tires. You have all black rims, so you're 1/3 there.
5. Get a Titanium straight, bladed fork. Make sure the the maximum blade width from the side is the same width as the headtube and taper down from there. None of that Aero nonsense. And yes, it must be Titanium.
6. New saddle with less words covering the goddamn thing; unless you're really attached to it via sentiment, a weird sense of style or it fits you REALLY well. I recommend Fizik Aliante or Arione.
7. Give it to me.

Nice bike, dude. Allez is a fantastic starter bike. I had an 06 Allez triple before getting the Tarmac, and I've started one of my best friends riding on an 08 allez.

Hey man... just checked your broken leg website... that was great (well, I'm sure not for you )! I think the pharmacy label mess up is priceless.. Medical science is fascinating and your experience was something for sure. I did the same thing (document all the stages with pictures) when I broke my wrist crashing a quad (ATV) 2 years ago. Good stuff

The broken leg sucked at the time, but I learned a TON because of it. I'm a much stronger person now, and afraid of pain much less now that I know what it feels like to really hurt. I'm also a stronger rider - when I'm pushing, and I'm out of breath, and my legs are killing me, I say "this doesn't hurt that bad" and keep going .

Few weeks ago, picked up a used Cannondale; CAAD 3 Frame, full Ultegra except for 105 hubs and Cervelo calipers. Total was $450. Rides better, shifts smoother; a huge difference from the old MTB I used to ride.

My new steed (not entirely new, had it a month now):
Spec:
Trek Madone 2008 5.2 Pro size 56 frame set.
SRAM Force front derailler, rear derailler, crankset (53/39), brakes and brifters.
Shimano Ultegra 12-27 cassette.
Bontranger stem and handle bars, both alloy.
Look Keo Carbon (cromoly axel) pedals.
Front wheel - DT Swiss 240S hub, DT Swiss R.R 1.1 rim.
Rear wheel - DT Swiss 240S hub, DT Swiss R.R 1.2 rim. The spokes on the rear are tied and soldered where they intersect for extra stiffness.
Specialized Toupe saddle.
Specialized Rib Cage Pro Road bottle cages.
Guestimated weight: 16 lbs.
The stack will disappear once I have a few more spacers off the bottom! I dont have a garage and I dont care that the chain is on the small ring! The pics were taken when I got home from a 120 mile ride and I dont apologise for slacking!

Hi Juniormint!
It looks like you're using a quill stem to aheadset converter on that bike. Do you know what brand it is and if it's at it's maximum height?
Thanks

I'm actually not at all sure what brand it is... The guys at the bike store I go to put it on. I can, however, tell you that he mentioned it was at MINIMUM height, and if I needed it any lower, we'd have to order a new one.

Here's my bike (stock photo) : 2008 Specialized Allez Elite Compact.
I just started riding in late May, and I'm really enjoying it. I hope to get into some 'casual races' soon.
