Been a long time since I saw a set of these

I ordered new water bottles. . I had one hat I got last year but the rest were 10+ years old. I ordered an insulated camelback bottle for my main bottle. The one I bought last year as a second. I ordered a Schwinn brand bottle with a cap over the bite valve for the bottle cage under the down tube it came with a fairly sturdy bottle cage and the set of bands for bikes without braze ons . They are going in my parts bin
I don't even keep a cage on the bottom of the down tube. Just add it if I need it

I remember seeing something like that as a kid, in the bike aisle at K-Mart. How cool, I could mount a water bottle on my bike! Then my parents shot down my idea, telling me I shouldn't be riding so far I'd need to drink water.

It's a wonder I stuck with cycling!

I figured that you could probably order them. Used to be local bike shops stocked them. It surprised me to see them come with a bottle and cage set

I liked the Blackburn version, with the little dimples to fit into the bolt holes on the cage.

I ride vintage bikes and always keep an eye out for old TA steel cages and steel mounting hardware. Always a pain fitting these on the downtube and working around the derailleur cables. Many times I have unknowingly clamped a cable.
