to answer my own question & provide some dining feedback, after our visit

Grazie - 26 Marshall St, North Adams, MA 01247, requires reservations & bar dining fills up early. never got there but that looked very good

Freight Yard Pub - Heritage State Park Building 3, 1 Furnace St, North Adams, MA 01247, always reliable pub-fare. had the fajitas but I don't recommend them here. no peppers, just a pile of onions & the meat is cubed, not slivered, generous potion, good for 2 ppl actually!

Pera Bistro - 60 Spring St, Williamstown, MA 01267 - Mediterranean / Lebanese fare, service so-so, not crowded, very good grape leaves & very good lamb burger, could have had 2!

The Spring Street Market & Cafe - 66 Spring St, Williamstown, MA 01267 - very good for lunch, sandwiches & cookies

Having gone to high school in Deerfield, and having visited that area more recently, I know things can be hit or miss up that way. Looked at Grazie. Looks like a good option, but doesn’t sound “romantic” in the sense of quiet, at least on the weekends.

Belated Happy Anniversary!

We had ours recently, too, and because of some upcoming trips and associated expenses, went modest. Sichuan Gourmet in Burlington. Highly recommended! It was busy and noisy and we were sitting inches from our neighbors, a young dad who did his utmost to keep two hungry youngsters occupied until the food arrived. Which turned out to be a tofu dish they immediately hated. Frantic ordering of other selections and ultimately happy kids, but what a rookie mistake
