Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Lance remains a HERO for many........Enough already

The drug issue is over...they took it all away but who cares. We may never know what he did or did not do but we do know prior to any charges of doping he was winning races. he has raised cycling awareness world wide, cancer awareness world wide donated & raised $100's of millions for research. He was a great champion, USA & word cycling would not be where it is today with out him.
OK, now they can attack someone else.
Lance won, he won in big fashion.

Go Lance.......

I too was a big fan. It's hard for me to believe anybody that was successful as a pro racer from the 60's on didn't dope. All this talk abut heroism and suffering is a bunch of baloney - just athletes making a living where winning matters above all else. None of them are worthy of anybody's admiration.

He was the best of his peers at the time in a sport where doping was the norm. On the one hand, I blame the UCI for not making more of an effort to clean up the sport. If you let some get away with it, you basically require everyone to follow suit. On the other hand, I dont know that they had the technology and the budget to really clean it up effectively. These guys knew how to beat the tests. Its complicated.

And the Livestrong foundation does good things, but its not primarily about cancer research.

So now that Lance has come out in favor of doping what is the preferred regimen? Should we be looking towards HGH, blood infusions, or some concoction of artificial testosterone? How can we too be like Lance?

I hope the investigating associations don't give up and continue with all the riders who rode during Lance's time. There's no point in giving the Tour championships, stages, other wins, and the Olympic medal to dirty riders.

Not to mention all of the other races.

If they don't, and stop now, it's nothing but personal and the associations are more cheaters and liars than any rider...including Lance.
