Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Bontrager Nebula Plus saddle. The stock Kona saddle was too narrow.

Dura-Ace 9000 +4mm pedals. these are 4mm wider than the standard SPD-SL Dura Ace 9000 pedals, and man are they smooth. These replaced the lowest end SPD-SL pedals (you know the ones bike shops sell for $40-$50.00).

I didn't buy these so much to cut weight as I did to get a bit wider platform for my size 13D battleships (size 48 European sizing).

Good and generally comfortable for at least 4-5 hours although after 115 miles total it still feels high. It got rid of my knee pain, and I can comfortably rotate my pelvis to get lower.

My left pinky and thumb started to get pins and needles after 3 hours, although I think that came from wrapping farther up the levers than I usually do which made a bulge in the hood instead of a fit issue. With the orthotics I needed to wear thinner socks for my right toes to feel normal.

I just checked out the 3D Fit website and I wish they had something in my neck of the woods. I've lost a lot of weight, gotten much fitter and am looking to see what what changes to my setup I might need/be ready for.
There are more dynamic fit systems than you can shake a stick at - Retul, Specialized Body Geometry, F.I.S.T., Guru...

The big thing you're looking for is a fitter's judgement, and not the mechanism they use for measurement.

There's more to it than just picking a fitting method, see this for more info: Bike-Fit Systems | Bicycling

Picked up a Pedro's Chain Keeper on Friday evening. Too many times I've had to deal with the chain flopping around when getting the bike in and out of the car (just fits in the trunk with both wheels off), but not Saturday. Should have picked one up a LONG time ago - it's SO nice to have.

POC Octal MIPS in white. Used to wear Catlike Mixino helmets, the POC fits a bit better and also looks ridiculous, just in a more rectangular way!

Guess I should have mentioned I got those frames, but went with the prescription, transition lenses. I got caught a few times in the dark with my current glasses, so I decided to get transitions.

I know I wouldn't be happy with that lens, it's made of plastic like all cycling glasses and thus scratches easily, so treat it with kid gloves.

I had a pair of Oakley's for a couple of years. Road in everything with them, including getting pretty dirty on some wet ride. Still no scratches. If they scratch, they do.

I hope the transitions get dark enough for your area. Here they aren't dark enough, but the it's usually extremely bright sunshine.

The lens shape and frames work great for cycling. They work so well that I now rarely use my Jawbreakers or Radarlocks.

all shatterproof lenses are plastic. Glass works well for many uses, but cycling isn't one of them.

Picked up the new bike today, (only needed), well wanted to swap my crank set out between the two bikes. I am really happy with the purchase and can not wait to race with it. Sorry about the bottles, I was testing out the new bottle cages. I need to figure out if I can get the black HED decals for the wheels, I think they would look better. I got my custom focus fully ready for sale as well. Its been along day of bikes.

I know, tis a sad day but.. the new bike is stiffer, lighter, and supporting a local business is always nice. The man I bought the bike from has won many races on it so maybe it will bring some magic juju haha, this is what the last picture of the focus looked like before I made some of the switches.

Unfortunately what you said is true, like everything else they want you to buy $200 or so pair of glasses every couple of seasons, or you get wrap around fishing glasses made of a laminated glass and plastic and have them last at least 15 years. Of course I hear the argument about the glass will shatter, my Bolle's never did nor did they ever scratch, and they were clearer than any cycling glasses I've ever tried.

Not really a big fan of Oakley stuff - this is a serious post - it seems cheap as hell to me and is an enormous price point. Jawbreakers feel like they should be $30-40 tops.

I'm a Ray Ban man... Like entry level old style wayfarers. They're even too much at $107.
