Velocity Dyad on eBay

Dunno if this has been posted already, or if it violates any rules, but a well-known US retailer has a pretty good price on eBay for 36h, 700c Velocity Dyads. I just got a pair for 30 bucks each, shipped. Last I knew, MSRP on these was about $73 each.

Pretty good deal if you need a solid rim and don’t mind the weight. I’ll be building mine up with Sapim Strong spokes, so they ought to make into a nice, durable set of wheels for my touring bike.

You might need to mark the eBay item and keep an eye on it, as the price seems to fluctuate quite a bit. The price I paid ($30.05 each, free shipping) was by far the best price I’ve ever seen on this rim.

Oh man! Don't post stuff like this where I might see it.

I've got a 36 hole hub sitting in my shop begging me to lace it up to a rim. Problem is, I' ve got no use for a 700c Dyad wheel anymore.

Have you received them yet? Wondering if there's a catch.

No, it should be another week or so before they show up. I've bought from these guys several times in the past ... it usually takes a few days before they ship eBay items and about 9-10 days total between auction win and the item's arrival. If I don't see a shipping confirmation by the end of the week I'll rattle their cage. They are now listing these rims (same auction) at $51.52 each -- as I said, the price fluctuates.

I now have a UPS tracking number, delivery is scheduled for November 1. Same item, same auction, price is now $61.82 each. I have no explanation for this. I guess it just pays to check the price regularly.
