Fuji Abosulte or Specialzed Sirrus

I am looking to sell my Fuji comfort bike and get a hybrid, I dont want a Mt bike with the big tires. Are either of these any good ?

Well, it depends on which models you're looking at? For the Specialized, I would look at the Sirrus sport or higher end models. For the Fuji, I would look at the Absolute 2.0 or the Absolute 1.0.

If you're planning on doing longer rides (ie over 25? miles) I'd stay away from the Sirrus... too much vibration from the heavy aluminum frame. (The Spec. Allez is much nicer bike!)

heres the deal, I have a Giant Defy carbon road bike I ride most of the time, I have a Fuji Crosstown comfort bike I ride the trails with, it has a shock absorber seat and forks, I put 2800 miles on it last year.

I probably wont ride it that much this year but e use our hybrids to trail ride...I am now thinking maybe I should just keep my Fuji and replace my bent frnt rim then to buy a flat bar hybrid w/o the shock absorbers....

You can't compare that thing with a genuine Fuji Absolute!

... You can't really be Sirrus!

The Sirrus elite is a nice bike. Very comfortable for all around rinding and handles well.

I think both bikes are awesome bikes. The only difference is that you'll save a couple of hundreds for a Fuji when compare to a Specialized with about the same features.

Great shots! I was looking at the Sirrus before picking up my Wingra. I've read nothing but great things about that bike and plan on buying the Vita for my girlfriend with next year's tax refund. How does it feel on light trails or rough gravel?

Hey Atlanticocean, your household is almost exactly like mine. My wife has the same Vita in that color I however have the Sirrus Elite unlike the Sport like yourself . I absolutely love my bike and love the fact that we can get out and ride together. Nothing beats that!

To answer the OP, I would still recommend the Absolute as I think it has better components and was slightly smoother (to me at least) to ride. Test both and pick what appeals to you most and enjoy.

Can't advise on light trails or rough gravel. They are pavement queens.

Does yours have the bar ends? Which ones? You like em?

The elite did not come with bar ends. I toyed around with the idea of getting some but changed my mind. I did get rid of the original grips though cause I got tired of them turning downwards all the time and bought some ergons that screw in place and I'm much happier. Might still get bar ends eventually, who knows.

I have not had problems on trails or gravel. I would not use it if the surface gets too rough as in more serious men biking, but smaller ruts are ok. The tires are a little narrow and lacking enough tread if one were to try for very loose surfaces, especially if on a hill.

I have the Specialized ergonomic bar ends and they are comfy and provide some nice variation for the hands on longer rides.

No vibration problems from my base model 2012 sirrus with steel fork at all and have taken it on numerous longer rides. I have 700 x 35's on mine. I live in a rural area and have ridden on dirt and gravel roads no problem. The bike is not heavy in my opinion.
