Neuse River Trail (Raleigh, NC) Bike Rental?
We'll be visiting NC next month, flying into RDU and were thinking of riding the Neuse River Trail in its entirety (60 mile out and back?). Any ideas where to rent/borrow two roadish bikes in 52-54 cm?
Google says we can rent high end road bikes from Trek Raleigh for $100/day or beach cruisers from "thebicycleguy" at the dam or the Citrix rideshare bikes. Anyone know of anything in between?
Thanks

It's actually about 70 mi round trip if you include the Sam's Branch Greenway into Clayton at the southern end. The Bicycle Guy is convenient at the northern terminus and I think they rent other than cruisers. Also try the Oak City Cycling project in Downtown Raleigh. Keep in mind that a lot of shops in the area are still in Covid operational mode and may not be renting bikes. I think the phone is your friend here.
Also, if it all comes together for you, you'll have a great time on the Neuse River Trail.

There is a closure at Poole road at this point:
The parking lot off Poole Road and the Neuse River Greenway from mile 19 to 19.25 will be closed at this point along the trail. Please be aware of the construction activity and observe the construction signage.
You can take some side roads to get around this, but it is a little tricky. Here is a Facebook page description on the detour:
**Short recap:
-From APP/NRT get on Riverview Rd til it ends.
-Rt @Poole Rd.
-Lt @BARwell Rd.
-Lt @Barrington Dr.
-Lt @Early Dr.
-Rt @King Cir.
-Lt @Andy Dr to deadend.
-Walk to the NRT.
**On the way north from Clayton, the "grassy trailhead" to get to Andy Dr is just past 20MM on Ur left.
-walk up to Andy Dr.
-Straight on Andy Dr.
-Rt on King Cir
-Lt on Early Dr.
-Rt on Barrington Dr.
-Rt on Barwell Rd
-Rt on Poole Rd for ~1block
-Lt on Riverview Rd til it parallels the NRT
-use that "driveway", or walk over the grass, to back onto the NRT.
