Hi from Indy
Been cycling all my life, but moved to Indy a few years ago and became an empty-nester. Recently back into cycling a bit, with some free time on my hands and a city that despite its horrible roads has some nice urban trails and is relatively flat. I own a Trek 4300 MTB that I picked up when I live in Alaska. It's a comfy ride and all (just put some Double Fighters on it) but my passion right now is a franken-fixie that my son left me when he graduated college. It's a Sanwa frame (which seems to be a bit of a mystery) with a mish-mash of parts. I've been riding it around town and enjoying the excitement of urban cycling. Just swapped the drop handlebars for bullhorns (cause I don't like to ride that low in a city). I'd be out right now, but it just rained... so I'm here researching fenders. Glad to be with you all. This forum is a great resource. My previous passion was restoring a 1964 Mercury Comet (with that same son). Cycling is much cheaper with faster rewards

Welcome. I am a just south of Indy. So much road construction in Indianapolis right now. And the roads are awful anyway.

Welcome, I am northeast. Flat is an understatement, but at least we get extreme temperatures and some wind from time to time

The roads are so bad in Indy, even the Monon is under construction but I rode part of it anyway on Sunday.

Also live in Indy - on the Southside (north of Greenwood). Enjoyed bike commuting to and from Methodist Hospital semi-regularly for 32 years. Urban cycling can be quite..............interesting.
Lots of construction now on converting state road 37 to I-69 not far from us. Makes it challenging to get from home to roads west of the highway. Things should be much improved in another year or two.
Welcome

Welcome, I make it to Indianapolis occasionally. I have a brother and his family that live there. I can honestly say. IME, the roads are really bad. Honestly, I have seen very little of the city, if not just passing through, a night or two visit. The last time I was there, we went out for breakfast and it was really good. The menu listed in house made corned beef hash, It was, no doubt, the best hash I have ever eaten. There was a pile of it, and it was finished, with help.
