Giada bicycles, any info?

Recently I bought some old steel road frame made by Giada.
I would be happy to know something related to this manufacturer.
I try to search Internet, but only picture is related to one folding Italian Giada bicycle:

These could easily be shop stickers, and even unrelated ones. Since Google confirms Giada is a female name and also mean Jade in Italian they could even be totally unrelated, e.g. looking at your frame, its small enough to be used by a woman and the decal seems off in design (seems more modern I mean, but some companies had modern logos even in the 80's) for the possible age of the frame. Speaking of which, it is really nice and well preserved, since these cromovelato paints (transparent tinted lacquer on polished chrome) used to flake off in big chunks. More pictures would be welcome for a better id, I cannot decide if the small size tricks my eyes, but the chain stays seem wide like those seen on Columbus MAX frames (although they are tapered before going into the bottom bracket shell, but the rest of the bike looks more like Columbus SL, Are any of the main triangle's tubes tapered? Any frame numbers or other identifiers on it? Look if you can find a dove logo in an oval, on the fork steerer tube.

Unfortunately it will be difficult to id the frame, however there are plenty of people who even recognized custom builders' works based on small details. The folding bike stands out more from the crowd with a feature not seen on most of the others (usually the chain stay and seat stays are bent from 1 tube and the rack is an addition, but here the rack and chainstay are one, and the seat stay is the added plus) it would be easy to recognize if I would find pictures of another one, but as stated, that and your are not necesary related.

Thank you for feedback. I will take more close up photos.
BB has italian tread. I will inspect frame a little bit in next days. Group set was mix of Campagnolo shifters and derailers , and Ofmega cranks.Frame size is 56.

While there's lots of bling with extensive exposed chrome and cromovelato finish, my overall impression given by the other frame features is an early to mid-1980s, mass production, mid-range model.

bax76 I have learned over the years, if there is something on this forum to be rarely seen is T-Mar being wrong with assessments.
Bike is definitely not from the top shelf, I would still like to see those tubes from a different angle.

But we are not here to discuss the obvious, I didn't come empty handed..... look at this, and decide if you also think, it came from the same hands as yours. Mixed Campagnolo and Ofmega crank..... cromovelato and exposed chrome, white paint details and non-existing bike brand...
This time its called Varallo, a city in Northern Italy.

bax76 -

the folder is a bit of a klinker as a research lead

typically manufacturers of Italian wheel goods who offer a full range of models do not produce their own folders
folders have a number of unique-to-them fittings not found on other sorts of cycles

there are two or three Italian firms who specialize in the production of folders and it is generally cheaper for makers who offer a full range of models to purchase their folders via contract from one of these

our member MauriceMoss may have some information to share regarding the Giada marque on his next forum visit...

the marque evidently goes back a bit to judge by this rod brake machine offered for sale in a private classified advert from Padova

---

one avenue of investigation you may wish to pursue is the possibility that the name may belong to a retail cycle shop which they employ as their "house brand"

if this is the case there may have been several makers of Giada badged machines through the decades

it is a common practice in Italy for retail cycle shops to have their own brand which they do not actually manufacture

"usually" a house brand will bear the name of the shop, but not always
since giada means jade it could be a woman's name; for example the wife or daughter of a shop's founder/proprietor

if this is the case there would greater difficulty in locating it

there is an online directory of Italian marques created by and for enthusiasts
it is gated; one needs to register and pay a small dues fee to explore it

there are likely some forum members who are also members there; i am not a member

the number of Italian marques is in the many thousands

---

found one entity located in the Veneto with the Giada name -

"New Prisma Bike Di Pigatto Giada"

1 Via Giacomo Zanella, Nove, Vi 36055

do not have high hopes for this establishment; posted mostly as an example

"pigatto giada" may translate to "jade pagoda"; sounds more like a restaurant name than something cycle related

in case you would like to search on your own the phrase for "bike shop" in the Italian tongue is "negozio di biciclette"
