Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

We're fully screened. And there are fish and frogs in the pond, and frogs roaming the house. I get buzzed once or twice per night, now, at the end of dry season. There are plenty of times when a fan is necessary to keep them at bay.

So I’m doing some research on the sram force flat top chain but def getting mixed signals. Some say the standard chain checker won’t work because the rollers are different diameter but others say that doesn’t matter because the chain checker measures the inside to outside of a roller.

They'll definitely all have it. Are they going to be able to come home? The in-laws had to test to be able to come back from Croatia.

Hot day on the lawn. If DougRNS had tried to do his 15 minutes of mowing here, his mower battery would have combusted.

I HTFU and only had one water break, per Velo Vol tradition.

That didn't answer the question. You can have a variety of blood tests at a basic lab. No doctor's office required.

Rain. Lots of rain. Nothing to do but read and post on BF. Hurricane related? Quite likely.

PBK sent me an email saying the want me back. If they'd cut the price on GP5Ks back to the low 70s per pair, they'd see more of me.

They are coming back June 10th. My understanding is they must test before coming home, and if positive must wait 5 more days to come home. That’s not rational, as a person may test positive even a week or two after the illness, but rules are not always rational. So worst case, she comes back June 15th. She does have some sniffles but tested negative, I told her to not be surprised if/when she gets a positive test.

We did the standard Tuesday ride yesterday and I felt pretty good afterward. Today I wanted to try a route from the old neighborhood to the area where I now live by going over the hills on dirt. Years ago I could connect through up there but there are now a lot more houses. I did some recon on the road bike a couple weeks back and studied the map for trails.

Today I took the mtb and rode the streets to the bottom of the canyon. I felt like a slug and just couldn't get going. There are 2 grueling climbs to get to the fire road I wanted to explore. I rested in the park where I usually go and said eff-it and rode home the easy way. #old age

Depends on the checker. Google will help.

monkey pox?

I don't have to worry as much since I was vaccinated for smallpox when I was a ute and it should offer some protection.
