Thats really the choice and job of the viewer of the magazine. There is sexual geared elements everywhere in media today from sitcoms, to reality tv shows, to TV commercials to magazine commercials. I really think it is our jobs to filter out what we dont want ur children to see etc. Of course it is the subscribers right to protest, so more power to you. But still the ad is still advertising mature consentual adult sex products , it isnt porn and it isnt what you would really call disrespectful.
I agree re car ads - i counted 11 ads in an issue a few months back. It a useless rag, they keep sending it to me for free hoping i'll subscribe.

But, they wouldnt put the car ads in there unless there were effective. So this really speaks volumes about the folks reading the mag - gotta have fancy lycra & carbon to ride, plus a lexus to drive 5 miles to the ride start. And if youre lucky, you'll get LUCKY. Then you need that sex furniture thingy. And this is really what cycling is all about..

Want to see what causes most/all problems in America? read the OP. That guy is the the one that makes it suck for every person that wants life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. Do a little history research, se what happened after the 18th amendment got passed(Edit: and how it came to pass). This guy is just like the "small and really loud" minority that got that amendment passed. For that matter, look at all the stupid laws that get passed because one moron had a problem.

He hasn't really explained why his religious beliefs should dictate what ads appear in magazines that are targeted at a broader demographic than members of his church, if that is his argument, nor has he cited any actual peer-reviewed studies that support this reason for banning the ad:

I would be interested in any citations to actual scientific peer-reviewed studies that support this reason for banning the ad:

how-a-bout-it. Like saying that you saw a guy steal a car on CSI and now you have this burning urge to steal cars. This might apply to two year olds but they can not read or drive a car.

Imagine the uproar we'd get in the US if this magazine cover ran here: BabyTalk

I saw that ad the other day in the magazine. Out of curiosity I went to the website.

WOAH! I said.

I showed it to my wife, who promptly said "don't even bother"

We have been married too long...

From that article:
"Gross, I am sick of seeing a baby attached to a boob," the mother of a four-month-old said.
That is hilarious. What nutbags we have in our country today.

It's funny how wussified people are today.

1) It's a boob
2) it's a kid
3) the kid is drinking
4) so STFU and go cry harder somewhere else.

What I would like to see is one fatality directly the fault of an unaltered nipple. Show me one, and I'll show you a spectator that has problems watching where they are going.

If we used as much energy trying to curb our violent ways as we waste trying to curb other's sexual ways, something tells me this World would be way better off than it is right now. Damn I hate prudish behaviour.

Inappropriate is in the eye of the beholder. A subjective judgement that has no business being thrust upon the rest of us. Quite a few years ago, Dirt Rag published a gay rider classified in their classified section. No pix, but it was obviously an ad aimed at the gay population who rode bikes. Nothing offensive. I am sure it was pulled not because of it's inappropriate content, but the pressure from righteously indignant-sphincter too tight homophobic idiots. I often wonder about the quality of life of someone who spends so much time scrutinizing periodicals, TV shows, etc just to find something to be offended by. Twisted and stupid. But there you have it.

Sorry, Lloyd - I liked the ad. You're certainly free to cancel your subscription, but my responses to things I don't like are to sigh, ignore them, and keep on truckin'. Of course, your money talks just as loudly as mine, so feel free to persevere.

Maybe not all. Maybe not most. But A LOT.

OP: terrible things happen to people because of ignorance not because of being informed. And you seem like are one of those spreading the ignorance.

I hope the OP's kids don't take any interest in fitness. The ads in those magazines would drive him mad.

This is christian fascism at its worst. Claiming to have a lock on family values, adherents think they can tell everyone else to comply with their bible inspired rules. GET OVER IT, FOR CRYIN OUT LOUD. We haven't chosen your religion and don't want your religious based crap setting up the rules. bk

sex is evil. were it not for sex, the original poster would not be so burdened with kids and grandkids for whom he has to shelter and be protective of.

children. sex. suvs. kittens. avatars of the horsemen of the apocalypse.

Oh my god. Someone advertised marital aid furniture.

I, personally, can't even stand thinking of two humans making love. Best to watch tv instead where we can watch ****, violence and murder.

Actually, all the OP really did (aside from posting in this forum) was to cancel his subscription, which is probably the right response if he's that offended. He's entitled to vote with his wallet just as you and I are.

The problem is that a lot of people aren't happy with just voting with their wallets. They think that their vote should apply to everyone else as well.
