Ruta de la Plata, Spain
Has anyone tried this long-distance cycle route in Spain? (I can't include the url yet as I haven't posted enough, apparently.)
It looks quite interesting, but I've never cycled in Spain at all so have no idea what it would be like.

I must say that I haven't done it.
Nevertheless if you are looking for long-distance routes, you have the well known Camino de Santiago, and you can start it on France

I haven't done Via de la Plata but it goes through some great and less known areas of Spain.
Will you be departing from Seville and going to Santiago?
You won't see many cycle tourists.... will visit many lonely villages and some great medieval cities.
Most people here do the mtb variant, which means dirt roads mainly.
How good is your Spanish?
Here is a blog with lots of details, maps, on the Via de la Plata:
Zinaztli. Cicloturismo de montaña con alforjas: Vía de la Plata (Sevilla-Santiago). Ficha del viaje.
I would avoid summer months due to heat.
