Anyone up for vintagefying the greatest ride in Wisconsin in September?
Some of you will recall this thread - https://www.bikeforums.net/classic-v...in-august.html
Well, the Dairyland Dare is now in the hands of the organizers of the the HHH. In short, the DLD sucks and I won't give those people my money
On the other hand, there is a ride called Bike the Barns, I have done it 3 times. The vibe is awesome, no hammerheads looking for a PR. And best of all, the food and support is absolutely the best I have ever experienced. Much of the food eaten is raised on the farms you visit. For example, the BLT at one stop used a pig they had slaughtered a few weeks back with proper vine-ripen tomatoes. The fresh ice cream at another stop could be topped by raspberries if you went into the raspberry field at that stop. So awesome.

I'll be on the 1915 Rola, fixed.
Anyone else want to join in for some real vintage riding?

That is very tempting. Miss the vibe of the old DD. And you’ve never steered me wrong on a recommended bike ride.

I dig the idea of invading or "vintageifying" cool rides. We should do more of it en masse like a horde. Let's make a list.

Bike the Barns
Always wanted to do that one.
Should be rested up from Triple Bypass
Maybe. There's a lot going on in that state.

Sorry to hear about the surgery, that sucks. 30 and 60 mile options. Heart-healthy vegetarian food option too. Unless you want to go quick, then there is plenty of fat, salt and booze in Wisconsin.

Beating the dead horse of ECA, if the vintage event sucks, go to a good event with vintage. What's nice about the BtB attendees is they actually find vintage as cool, not something to scoff.

Oh, yeah.
Pick up curds before, and pasty the next day for lunch.
I'm tentatively in, as +1 to my lady. I'm asking around here.
Will let Randy Scott know.

I'm not an organized ride really but I did one in Ottawa one year. My gf and I were pretty much the only vintage riders... Bob Jackson and Sekini. Was pretty cool how everyone actually noticed.

This looks good. I’m nearly always up for a ride in Wisconsin but those dates won’t work this year. I’d bring a bike with at least 9 more gears than iab for this ride,

Looks like a great ride. Tough to drive up there from here for what would be only a longish Saturday ride. Add in a Century or 200K option, then that would be a horse of a different color....
