Photos of my LeMond build
Just finished it and I think it turned out pretty well. With a period-correct Campy Daytona group and Brooks. These are the first set of wheels I've built and they lasted through the maiden voyage. I'm also building a set of tubulars for this bike using Chorus hubs, Mavic GP4 rims, and DT Swiss DB spokes.

Indeed! That (fitting) pine green always looked good on the Alpe de Huez. I wonder if anyone would get the joke if you put a sticker featuring a badger of some kind on it.
LeMonds are underrated... the USA-made frames are extremely nice.

Some folks would get it, most would not. Reynolds 853 does make a very nice frame. I was lucky that the decals on this frame were in good shape, I've seen some LeMond frames where they were almost unrecognizable - damaged decals don't diminish the quality of the frame but it makes restoration more difficult.

It was one of those little moments when being a longtime pro came in handy: one of my first 'art' jobs back in high school was actually painting signs, so I definitely had the tools & skills to make a tidy job of it.

A real beauty. Congratulations! I remember looking high and low for decals to put on my Lemond Zurich a few years ago. Couldn't even find the "853" decal. I see that they are available on ebay now. I ended up just gluing the headbadge back on.

I, too, appreciate clean, conservative paint jobs. Good lookin' bike!
