So I compared 700c and 27.5" hybrid wheelbases
One of the ideas of 27.5" (or 650b) wheels is that you can have larger tires with the same geometry of 700c so it should be the "same experience". So I compared some bikes.
Trek FX 1 700c in medium 1060mm
Specialized Sirrus 1.0 700c in medium 1066mm
Cannondale Quick 6 700c in medium 1069mm
Giant Escape 3 700c in medium 1075mm
Raleigh Redux 27.5" in medium 1050mm (no fork eyelets for front rack)
Devinci Cartier 27.5" in medium 1063mm (internal cables)
Surly Bridge Club 27.5" in medium 1073mm (a bit expensive lol)
Haro Beasley 27.5" in medium 1077mm (no fork eyelets for front rack)
Jamis Sequel S3 27.5" in medium 1088mm
Kona Dew 27.5" in medium 1116mm (internal cables)
Norco Indie 2 27.5" in medium 1119mm (internal cables)
Brodie Tesla 27.5" in medium 1125mm
Breezer Midtown 27.5" in medium 1154mm (internal cables)
Brodie Credo 27.5" in medium unknown
The thing is, when I decided to look at some details like does it have fork eyelets to allow the use of a front rack (I do groceries with my bike) and external cables so I can work on my bike, I was completely shocked. I mean only the Jamis Sequel, Brodie Credo and Tesla seem acceptable to me. I'd be tempted to go anyway with the Devinci Cartier since it has a wheelbase of only 1063mm (similar to 700c bikes) but the internal cabling still has me hesitating.
EDIT: For those looking for other 650b bikes, there's also the Linus Rover 9, Del Soul Soulville, Opus Big City (+ Mode 1), Marin Larkspur, KHS Urban X.
