Mountain bike

So I want to start getting into mountain biking, but I've noticed that a mountain bikes are pretty expensive. Like if you want to get a decent bicycle you can pay five to seven hundred dollars but if you want a good mountain bike that you can really shred trails with it seems like they're almost like $1,000 and above. Wondering if you guys have any recommendations for a good mountain bike. I don't want it falling apart LOL.

$1000? If you really want to 'shred' I'd consider that entry level. I'd be looking at least double that...for a hardtail. You want full suspension add at least $500-700.

Yep, my new Scott Spark 960 in New Zealand is the base spec Shimano 12sp, and its still USD$3,300... its not exactly cheap to get something you like!

Good equipment that lasts and is reliable is expensive. It's not just limited to mountain bikes.

As another example...Photography...my girlfriend has over $5000k wrapped up into her camera and related equipment.

And if buying a new bike..You aren't going to get a decent bike for $500-$700. And if you plan to "shred trails" you'll need to push your budget to ~$2k

Best bang for the buck with a limited budget is going to be Giant. Now you just need to decide if you want a hardtail for full suspension.
