Help i.d year of this caloi

H

Aquired very cheaply this year and in mint condition. I haven't had a roadie in years. When kids were small I had a hybrid to carry all. When they were in their teens I rode and still ride cx upgraded to gravel. I haven't found much on the web. What I did find:
model, CALOI RACE - ARO - 700 - 20V 10 speed cassette,flight deck 105 brifters.
Made in brazil but not exported to the states. This was before the company was sold and no info there. Oddly enough it has a rear carbon triangle and a front aluminum triangle.I would like to know the year of manufacture any info appreciated.

Made in Brazil? Not exported to the states? Não sei. But what brifters are those? Shimano Flight Deck (105)? When were those current?

They are 105 Flight deck brifters. And I can't find exact years they were made

I don't know either but it wouldn't be before 1990. You wouldn't lose much money betting on mid-90's for that bike.

I was looking up shimamano cassettes. They debuted in 2004.

It's the 105 5600 groupset. That would be ~ 2007-2011. Is there any reason why you need to pin down the exact year?

None other than curious. Even my lbs hasn't seen but a few Caloi since their shop opened in the 80's. I've never seen a frame with a carbon rear and an aluminum front triangle. Curiosity got me.

Where are you located? If in Brazil that shop is full of dookies but if in the U.S. wouldn't doubt it they are a Brazilian brand if not mistaken. Like I said previously Caloi is kind of like Schwinn in the U.S. in the 90s they went deep downhill but you still occasionally had some nicer ones and these days they are going even deeper but have a line of stuff that they sell outside of big box stores and in bicycle retailers that are lower and middle tier though like the Homegrown stuff of the 90s and early 2000s they do some nicer stuff on the MTB side of things these days.

Carbon Rear stuff was popular in the early 2000s I have seen quite a few bikes with it. Not a great thing but not a bad thing so long as no issues with dissimilar materials. They figured you had a carbon fork why not have one at the rear as well.

Yeah that is why nobody has seen it, Michigan probably doesn't have much of a massive bunch of Brazilian immigrants bringing bikes over so they are very uncommon. I see them occasionally but maybe once every few years and it is never anything like yours usually one of the bottom tier ones.

It can suck when someone dies but you can also find a deal as well.
