ate 90s Trek OCLV 5000
One of my neighbors gave this sweety to another one of my neighbors and we got to talking about it.
Are these things considered classics these days? Are the frames durable? What are they worth?
There are a couple of scratches in the chainstays that you can see in the pictures. The gear is Shimano 105. I took it for a ride and really liked it, but then my "new" bike is a 1975 Raleigh Competition.

Nice bike but not a lot of value in early carbon fiber. That said, I see anything rideable with STI shifting bringing $350-$450. I'd guess right around $400 for this one.

Id call it a "modern classic" for sure --- a version of this bike won the TdF 7 times afterall -- One of the first mass produced shaped carbon bikes
-- before this , carbon was rolled into tubes and joined with aluminum lugs --
Still a pretty bike but with that groupset (early 105 STI and appears to be 8 speed) id guess it to be early 90's rather than late -- that bike was introduced in 1992
Still agree on the pricing though - 350-450
I have a little later one - about 2002 , but before they started calling them Madones -- bike is still a feather - maybe a tad heavy compared to a newish bike (its 18 lbs) - but still very light
