Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Me too. Sciatica is the one condition that I believe manual musculoskeletal manipulation by a licensed chiropractor, or better yet, a D.O. (doctor of osteopathic medicine) should be considered. Just avoid the chiros that cloak their work in new age quackery. Still, a good chiropractor, especially one that deals with sports-related conditions, is a great find.

+1

I had such a chiropractor in Winnipeg ... he was great!! He was involved in sports himself and worked with one of the professional teams in the city. He knew what he was doing ... didn't get involved in any of that new age stuff ... and if he encountered something he wasn't sure about, he'd refer me to one of the best sports Drs in the city. I miss him!!

It's been said already, but just for emphasis, LIFT HEAVY THINGS CORRECTLY! Two months of absolute agony resulted from trying to lift a washing machine into the back of a car (without help). Stupid! PT and medications finally helped.

This.

My girlfriend had a failed l4/l5 microdiscectomy. Unfortunately her pain remained.
