Wow!
While living in Texas, I had seen some good sized hails but not quite this large… only heard of them.
Around early 90’s we got our old roof replaced (with our money), in under a year it was trashed by golf ball sized hail. We had already left Texas and our house was rented to someone. The insurance agent had verbally assured us that there wouldn’t be any issues with our then current insurance and the coverage will continue. After this hail damage, the insurance company informed us that the house is now considered a commercial property or some such, so no dice!
We had to pay for the roof a second time.
I used to be more naive then, assuming most people to be honest, including our local insurance agent. May be he was honest but incompetent. In retrospect, I should have read all 12 pages of fine print before renting the house, oh well!

Hail doesn't fall in the winter; it's a summer phenomenon, correct? Not to be confused with sleet.
