More lowly bikes!!!

A bunch of pics of some bikes I picked up recently. I know they are low end but tell me some things about them if you can please!

Heres one from a local thrift store. Cost: $6.00 needs tire, tubes and a tune up fer sure

What years did the Corbier line run?

When did they quit using steel cotters and BB on this model?

What model Sachs/Huret RD is this? Any good?

I know why bother?!!! It's a ? year AMF "Scorcher" garage sale find for $2.00

Price tag says $2.50 I could only get them to $2!!! Man they were tough old ladies

Another oldie Huret

Anybody got a clue to the year?

This one was a bargain (I think) A tag sale where I bought a grinder for $5.00 and this was leaning on the back wall of thier garage. when asked they gladly said $8.00 for both!

The paint is really faded. Anyone know a cure?

Suntour Honor!

This FD is busted so I'll have to find another

What the heck does Extra Lite mean?

I thought World Sport meant alloy rims? Is this one a weirdo?

I had a scorcher like that, only it had aero style bars. It was in much worse condition and didn't have wheels, but I got $15 for it last week, so I was happy. Very happy.

Last week end I went to a church yard sale. They had one bike, a 97 Kona Hahanna for $20. I grabbed it, but felt guilty on the way out. So I loaded the bike in my car and went back to spend more money.
I picked up a wrist watch that looked kinda cool, paid a whole $1 for the watch. When I got back to my car I noticed it's a Seiko. I looked it up on the internet, it has a stop watch and might be a divers watch. It's twin just sold on ebay for $200. Honest, here's the link (you have to scroll down after opening):

I guess I need to get out to yard sales more often. I feel like the prices have gone up since all the Craigslist businesses have started up around DC.
I want that Peugeot. Sell it to me for $20 and make a $14 profit

Exactly what I was thinking. Usually all the bikes around here are walmart, kmart, or target bikes, but they sell for less than $1 sometimes, so really the tires are worth more than that. I'm just always so busy, but I may have to start making time.

Guessing:

Peugeot: 1980-ish ? I'd expect to see cottered cranks before ~1980

AMF: early '70s? Maybe even late '60s? I was going to say late '70s, until I saw the rear derailleur. I'd expect this bike to have had drop bars originally. With upright bars, I'd expect fenders and no front derailleur.

That's most likely an 80 version. The 80 model had steel rims. The X-tra light wasn't all that light -- they were constructed of 18 gauge 1020 tubing. Nice riding bikes, tho. I have a girl's Le Tour from the same year with the same tubing.
Here's a catalog page that includes specs:
https://www.trfindley.com/flschwinn_1...0/1980_11.html

What's the standover height on that Peugeot? You going to keep it or flip it? Nice find. I'm jealous!

That AMF is equipped with a Huret Svelto rear derailleur, I think the front is Huret also. It looks "new" enough that it should have cheap Shimano rather than cheap Huret. Strange!

In Schwinn terminology, a "lightweight" Varsity is 40 pounds, so Extra Lite, could mean 31 pounds. A balloon tire bike with fenders and a tank could go over 50 pounds. So the definition of lightweight depends on your point of reference.
