Hello,

I have a problem on my left shifter 105 ST-5703.

I bought the same exact shifter, 105 ST-5703, it's written shimano 105 triple on it, it's brand new. But it only has 1 click to make the chain go up and 1 to go down ?

Is this a problem on the new shifter or is this normal ? My old shifter had 5 clicks to make the chain go up (2 + 1 trimming per ring) and 2 to go down.

I don't see how I can shift between three rings with just one click

You can't really tell unless you have a cable in the shifter and some tension on the cable. You can test by feeding in a cable and pulling on the end while working the shifter. Stand on the end of the cable if you find you need three hands

The innards of the brifter are going up (or down) with each click but you can't tell because there is no cable
that moves. So you hear the ratchet but can't see the internal motion around the drum that wraps the cable.

Nevermind playing a bit with it kind of unlocked something and now i have 5 and 2 clicks, even without the cable being in. So it's all good thanks
