Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Turning off Campy EPS

I am new to Campy EPS and love it. I have a question about turning it off to preserve battery life.

I have the magnetic strap to turn it off and everything I can find says just wrap the strap around the seat post. My question: Does it matter where on the seat post?

Thanks.

Yes, it matters. The magnet needs to be in the area marked ON/OFF on the power unit. If someone installed it right it should be about where the EPS sticker is.

Thanks. No EPS sticker to go off so I did trial and error. Location does indeed matter and it has to be fairly precise. On my 59.5cm F12 it turned out to be on the seat tube just above the rear stays.
