Any Cyclocross Racers Here?

I have never watched a cross race and thought the "Spooky Cross" event coming up next month would be fun to go see, but I can't find any details. So Cal Cycling shows it, but the link goes to So Cal Cross, which is outdated to the most recent event being last February. Their Facebook page isn't much better, listing the event but with no location and no schedule. How do these organizations even get participants?!

Our local promoter is pretty bad at getting info out.
Often not until the week do we get details
The Costa Mesa event is likely at Estancia Park, or maybe Fairview.
The other ones listed so far are likely at Lake Casitas and Pierce College.
Keep checking for info. She does tend to put info more often and sooner on Facebook than the website.

Is Dorothy Wong still running the events?

Thanks. Guess I'll keep an eye on their pages, but not gonna hold the date because I'm not even sure where it's going to be held.

Dorothy doesn't get permits til last minute so that why it seems things are rushed. There was big boom for CX like 10 yrs ago, iduno how much there is now when everyone has gravel bikes now.

You mean she waits until the last minute to apply for permits? Or the bureaucracy takes forever to get them back to her? If the former, it sounds like she needs to plan better. If the latter, she can probably get a feel for how likely she is to be approved and go ahead and start advertising. Events can be canceled if needed, as long as it doesn't become a regular thing. But I digress, if she is getting results and attendance that satisfies her, then she can do what she wants.

I kind of thought the gravel bike fad would make cyclocross more popular, unless they're starting a gravel bike racing discipline instead.

I just traded texts with Dorothy's boyfriend/partner. The announcement for the first race will be posted soon - Turkey Trot in Costa Mesa, 11/26-11/27. Their start is delayed due to being overwhelmed with work and family challenges.
