Thanks!

The camera was either a Canon A80 (more likely) or a Canon G3 (less likely).

I probably exaggerate the shutter delay. All I mean say for sure is, the time between (1) when I press the button, and (2) when the photo is captured, always seems an eternity to me; and during that delay I usually lose the photo I wanted to take. Don't blame the camera, blame my reflexes! This was the rare occasion in which the photo I got was actually better than the one I had hoped to get.

for a bit of variety (from me), this time there's no barn or crops. This is a shot from Steve Whitlatch's 2016 fall ride in Chicago-land (is that hyphenated?). The location is the MUP along the Fox River. An excellent path for such an urban area (says the guy from the middle of Illinois).

in the photo, we see Mr. Crank Addict on the left, riding his shiny blue Colnago equipped with the Zeus 2000 pre-drilled bits. On the right is Steve Whitlatch on his very nice Peugeot PX-10. It was a damp day, and I was quite reluctant to ride my Raleigh Team bike. After some delay, the weather improved a bit, and we managed to have a great time. The post-ride meal and beverage was outstanding!

Admittedly wasnt on one of my older bikes, but this one is steel!
Central Iowa is still pretty much all green- except the crops. Fall here is gravel rides with fields being harvested.

What says autumn more than tearing down a vintage Cannondale while watching football on the big ol' flatscreen?

My other excuse for not riding today was I wanted to make an apple pie. No pic of that. Not especially photogenic, but pretty tasty.

It's my favorite time of year too, but perhaps for a different reason. Time to break out the modern bikes for a while for some cyclocross! This was Saturday at Heiser Farms.

shoot.. I didn't realize that the Pumpkin Pie ride was so early in October (September?). Nice ride, although I always seemed to pick the years when it rained.

we combined it with hiking at starved rock saturday and monday. i never go on organized rides except for the bikepeoria night rides and such. it was wild how many folks saw this ride as a race. lots of carbon fibre, lycra and timetrial bikes. we were definitly an anomaly.

Southern California looks pretty much the same all year. This is today, just south of Santa Barbara. Put 43 miles on the old Super Course, didn't see many fall colors. Nice ride though.

My teeny-tiny Schwinn peeking out from under probably the biggest apple tree in the county:

I stop there three or four times every fall to steal three or four apples. I bike or drive by it every day I go to work.
