In the '90s that was a great design for an all around road bike since there were no 29ers or 650b wheels. It's still a very fine design today for a road bike for all around riding. It's fun riding a road bike with fat tires at low pressure (26 x 1.75 paselas at 50 psi).
Oops, edited my comment before you finished yours...I suppose that it isn't a conversion is what stood out. Looks like an absolute blast!

It's fall in the desert! Woooooooo!

...Or winter. Or summer. Unless it's thermal imaging you won't see much difference.

that's a pretty scenic desert!

I spent a few years in Yuma, many years ago. While it did have some irrigation, permitting crops to be grown, the surrounding desert was pretty much barren of anything alive. It worked out okay, because most of it was used as a place for the military to drop bombs.

Steve in Peoria (not the one near Phoenix, though)

My 1985 Schwinn Voyageur in front of the Old Scituate Lighthouse on Cedar Point in Scituate, MA. It could have passed for a July day today.

Some nice color coming in to the ravines along the North Shore. It's been a warm, dry fall in Chicago, and the color has been slow to appear (not complaining).

Still trying to find a nice scenic calendar shot like you guys. Not easy in LA. This is the best I could come up with today. I'll keep working on it.

A Super Course such as yours is just an inherently photogenic bike, IMHO. But you're right, LA is a tough nut for this theme. Here up north, it's all to easy. Here's my Super Course waiting out a brief rain shower on the way back from the grocery store, under one of our local maples doing it's job, right on schedule.

From the other angle, it's more colorful but without the intimate feel of the first shot.

Sunday morning fall rides are simply the best.

Can't get enough of that Super Course! I've got a ratty frame with good chrome from @nlerner that will be getting some gugificazione love this winter. It has the same capella lugs. I'm gonna powder coat it and lug line it just like yours!

Thanks for all the Super Course love. I had to replace the rear Campy hub (cracked flange). The ebay replacement needed cleaning and polish. When I finished that, the front hub looked dingy, so I did it too. It looks better all shined up. I saw another Raleigh, a 70's Grand Sport, white and tourquois, for $150 at Atomic Cycles in Van Nuys, CA. Frame was too big, so I walked away. It is dirty, but pretty much complete, with 1 piece aluminum crank, too. Could be nice for somebody. Keep the pretty pictures coming.
