Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

True. I do have a small Zwift ride with friends in a couple hours, but I can't seem to acquire the fine art of sleeping in.

It's 4F here. That's too cold. Time to follow Trainsnorter's lead and head South.

Happy new year all you reprobates. I realize that, though I'm up early, many of you are still partying. I have exciting news! I figured out a way to get the antibiotc into Spot, without getting bitten or otherwise freaking anybody out. I got up and did it before I could talk myself out of it. It was a rousing success--a great way to kick off a new day, let alone a new year. Carry on.

So... three hours of swimming make you sleep like a rock. Plus there's more snow on the ground. The high today will be 34Puritanical, and tomorrow's will be 32. How long does winter last?

I got up early and did a Zwift ride for an hour. We were supposed to do it with a few friends, but one friend has a busted pipe and one friend slept in, so I ended up doing the ride with one other friend, plus a huge group of anonymous Zwifters.

In Korean culture, New Year's Day is a big holiday, so we are heading up to NJ for the usual observances, which include eating LONG noodles (for a long life) and wishing our elders a happy and healthy new year.

We are in the middle, actually. So we all do the wish to the older generation. Later the younger generation does the wish to us.

BTW it's expected that after you get the wish, you give the younger ones (kids etc.) some money. The kids really clean up with this.

How do I get -17º and you get 4º? That's just not fair.

So far 2018 doesn't seem much different than 2017.

Oh well.

Sunny and no wind again this morning. So, it feels just as cold as it is.
