Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

You're welcome. It was my first Ribble order and was waiting for me at my door when I got back from vacation today. Not bad at all.

Wiggle is currently offering the 2017 carbon GT Grade (105, hydro disc) for $1480 (56 & 58cm only). If not for the colorway, I'd be thinking hard on it.

Yeah, what's with the lime green + red? Not cool.

GT Triple Triangle though? Definitely cool. And interesting curved chainstay.

It's to capitalize on that nostalgia over your 7th grade Trapper-Keeper, I guess.

I was looking at those handlebars myself, but they seem to have quality control issues. People complaining about not being able to get their brakes installed properly due to the thickness not being right.

Eh, just get a reflective yellow tape to color the bottom of the downtube between the red and the green and then get you some Bob Marley stickers to paste all over it and you're good to go.*

Not the best prices I have seen but significant discount on exceptional gear nonetheless.

backcountry/competitive cyclist has some sales on castelli stuff. Those ROS are a decent price now, I've just went on a run through clearance sections. Grabbed a gabba 2 and a few cannondale jerseys from them.

Exactly. Doesn’t go down if you go over $50 or even $100 either.

Dunno..didn't check. I ordered some tires from them last year and shipping was ok..at least ok enough that I still netted out at 50% off of, say, ordering off Amazon.

I don't doubt it. I was looking at some soft goods and the shipping was more that the cost of the items. I then added a wheelset to see if that would push me over a shipping threshold....nope just added even MORE. Other British online firms waive regular shipping over a certain amount. That's just an observation not an indictment of Planet X...perhaps their pricing model has the goods so low it precludes overseas shipping discounts.

But damn I want that Planet X Beanie and at $21+ to ship to the USA, I think I'll pass.

None of the shops by me sell these, and there wasn't enough info on what to use each saddle for... so, how did you pick which one you bought? Because I am considering buying one, and was trying to figure out which one to grab? I don't race, typically ride endurance.
Thanks!

Fabric does a horrible job of explaining their product lineup and models. They come in three "profiles" and five models.

Models are as follows starting with the heaviest and least expensive going up to the lightest and most expensive:
  • Sport: flexible plastic base and steel rails
  • Elite: flexible nylon base and CroMo rails
  • Race: flexible nylon base and titanium rails
  • Pro: flexible nylon base and carbon rails
  • Ultimate: flexible carbon base and carbon rails
Each of the models above are available in three different profiles including:
  • Flat: low, aero position
  • Shallow: between Flat and Radius
  • Radius: More upright riding position
I have a Radius Ultimate on my gravel bike. The flex is noticeable, very comfy on rough surfaces. It took a bit of getting used to as I thought I had a flat tire the first time I rode it.

I have a Flat Pro on my road bike. It does not seem to flex as much or I don't notice it as much over smooth roads.

I chose the shallow.. if only because it was the middle choice, and my regular road saddle is hard and flat.
In addition to the profile differences that Timothy mentions, I believe the amount of padding also incrementally increases as you move from Flat to the Radius.

Rapha sale
https://www.rapha.cc/us/en_US/sale/m...gory/Mens-sale

There are some pretty good deals if you can find colors you like in your size. Examples are the Classic bibs for $94 and a Core jersey for $57.50.

This is a chance for all you cheapskates to get your hands on some high end gear and not have to feel guilty about spending tons of money.
