Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

I didn't even know it existed but it's exactly what I need, thanks @canklecat! My index finger is still a bit messed up from all the effort I put into putting Conti GP4000IIs on my bike two weeks ago. Adding insult to injury, I only managed to seat the tire by resorting to using a lever and puncturing two tubes (I've changed tires but never used a tool before). I plan to use the jack soon because I forgot I had another correct-sized tube left and ended up putting in a smaller tube that I'll want to replace.
LOL when other tool-nerds tell me "a pair of removable link pliers is like $8, just buy yourself a pair already, and quit using makeshift ghetto methods", I'm like "no way man, you think $8 grows on trees? I'm just fine pyramiding the quicklink on the big ring and bashing it with a rock".

And now I see you wanting (needing? at least could definitely use) a specific tool, and dithering over 56c, and I become the tool nerd -- JUST BUY IT MAN. FWIW I paid $12.95 to buy my bead jack off eBay. I've only used it a handful of times, but don't regret the purchase. Maybe it helps you to know that $11.15 beats the price a sucker like me paid?

Nah, one of my hobbies is extracting every penny from the mega-corporations.

Merlin has 44cm 3T Rotundo Team and Team Stealth bars for ~$102 and ~$117, respectively. Carbon bars, classic bend, ~200g. I've had one of these for six years or so (Garmin/Transitions colors, if that dates them ) and they're nice.

No idea, but it is a carbon saddle from a major manufacturer for dirt cheap, so...

If I wanted a white saddle, I would order one for myself. It is only available in white unfortunately.

Yeah, if it were a ~155mm I would have no problem taking a chance on it (even though I'd much rather have one in black).

You can get 6800 for ~$600 from UK sites and it's the full group whereas the Fuji has off-series/brand crankset, brakes, chain, cassette. The bike is still a great deal, though.

Wow, I thought Kestrel was the only 'real' maker diluting their brand and undercutting brick&mortar by selling through BD. I guess Fuji is using BD as an overstock outlet now as well.

That's a 157% increase in under 2 minutes.

Thanks for posting the deal, Crankle!
These Amazon dodos still haven't shipped my baggage! I ordered on the 6th and it's now the 14th and have yet to receive a shipping confirmation. They have, however, put a hold on my account for $25.68. Good thing I'm not holding my breath in anticipation, but a week does seem excessively long for something like this.

EDIT: My stuff finally shipped today - Feb 15th - in two boxes.

EDIT #2: The first box that arrived was small and had 2 seat bags in it. The second box was large enough for all 3 seat bags, but only had 1 in it. What efficiency!

I have the 142mm version and I have to say that I really like it. It's comfortable and allows you to move around without adding any discomfort. The cut off is big enough that provides support to where I my perennial numbness is almost non-existent. It's also very light at under 200g. I bought mine for $69.99 so this is a great price.

If you don't like it you can always return it.

Would we really notice the off series parts or, would it make sense to replace them but enjoy the bike as it is for a long time first? I've been riding for 25+ years but still use a Nashbar on my trainer which originally cost $250 back in 1991. My main road bike is a 2006 Schwinn comp with Ultegra. I've been trying to find parts slowly to build up a 2009 Schwinn frame to match my 2006 but am still short of a full build so this Fuji has me wondering.....maybe I wouldn't know a really good bike until it rode over me!

Yeah I was hoping to see a 142mm version, I think 132 is too narrow for my large posterior.

Nashbar clearance and free shipping

Nashbar has free shipping this weekend. I spent an hour perusing all their clearance stuff, and there are some decent deals to be had. Went there looking for tires but having trouble figuring out what I want.

If the size chart is accurate these are definitely Asian sizing. XXL = 35 inch waist?

EDIT: THe sizing I was looking at was NOT the one in the graphic. It was adjacent to the order info. So I may be way off.

you might notice the Tektro brakes if you live in an area with really long or steep mountain descents, here there's roads you can descend for 15 miles and there's places that are well above 14% grade, even my Ultegra brakes struggle, but otherwise no.

you would notice it if you rode a new Carbon ride, might not bring any increased enjoyment of the sport to you, because any novelty eventually wears off, but you would notice it. You can always rent one for a day if your really curious. Local Trek store here told me $67. for a full day on their latest Domane.

No duty for shipments under $800 and most UK vendors have free shipping for (non-oversized) purchases over a specific dollar amount (usually $50-100). A 6800 group from Merlin is currently $582 to your door.

I don't know if this is a mistake or if it'll be honored, but Amazon (Amazon themselves - not a 3rd party seller) is currently listing 23mm Schwalbe Pro One tubeless tires at $12 each. Delivery time says 2-4 weeks, but who cares at that price?
