Shimano slx 2x12 derailleur for 11 speeds
I'm curious, if a Shimano SLX 2x12 derailleur would work ok on an 11 speed, I have an 11 speeds derailleur with max 31 T
It was ok with my 11/42 cassette, but I pushed the limit with an 11/46 cassette, and it is working just fine, shifting is ok.
The 2x12 derailleur have a capacity of 35 T, just wondering if there is something specific to 12 speeds that would stop
using a 12 speeds derailleur on an 11 speeds system.

not 100%, but the RD pull ratio is determined by the brifter. If you retain the 11 speed brifter & use the 12 speed RD, it should*achieve what you're after.

Yes, both the 11 & 12 SLX have a 1.1 pull ratio. Here's a chart to show all that are compatible. (12 sp is row 105, 11 sp is 135) Bicycle Cassettes & Drivetrains - Google Sheets
