Hello from Las Vegas
New to the site and wanted to drop in and introduce myself. I grew up in Salt Lake City, Utah but have been in Las Vegas, Nevada for 15 years. I’ve ridden road bikes off and on for 30 years and have been pretty committed to steel frames for most of those. I raced in my youth and was a Cat 3 before having corrective lung surgery after three spontaneous pneumothoraxes. Now ride for the love of the road. Speaking of the road, did a solo coast to coast ride along the northern border in 2001, which was one of the coolest experiences in my life. Got married, had kids, wife went back to school and didn’t ride for many years but the pandemic combined with a failing metabolism put me back in the saddle last year.

Outside of west Texas, that looks like a great ride! Did you have any connection to the route (ie things/people you wanted to see along the way) or did you just want to stay south for most of it. Some of those stretches probably made the one sign I encountered heading south in Alberta about no services for 120 km seem like child’s play.
