Schwinn Stardust
Saw a Stardust at a local Vintage Store today. Complete, paint good, but has the usual scratches. They want $225. It seems prices are rather steep for them on eBay. Are they really desirable?

The price isn't way out of line for a local sale. If your looking to buy and want one your not going to do better on price. I would still try and get $50-75 off the asking with the flat tires and rust on the rims.

forget the asking prices on ebay, look at the transaction prices.
the price as a bike to own as you have a family member who could use it, OK, but be willing to redo the bearings.
I am not sure on tires... cannot recall, some Schwinn's had odd bead seat diameters, so tires might be available, but very doubtful the "slick" in back. The boy's bike had wavy block tread.
As a flip? If it was a boys bike, sure.
