I bought a replica Lotus waterbottle for my Elite 600. Looks snazzy! It is so close, that new bottle cages allow it to rattle around in the cage too much. I guess new waterbottles are bigger girthed than older ones. So I am looking for a period correct cage now. $40 and up is stopping me though, knowing I used to have a few on my Kent & Murrays at maybe $4.50 new a pop in the late 80s/early90s. Ugh...if only!

I still have my original Voodoo cycles waterbottle from 1994. I am planning on one day having a Voodoo again so I held onto my old one. Financial situations made me fire sale my Bantu a few years into owning it. Sadness!

That's very funny that this thread should come up now and you should post that because I just picked this up recently with a used bike. Unsure of the age, but the bike was from around '89 and it was not a Puch.

I wish I had some vintage water bottles to share. The current cost of vintage water bottles is crazy, at least on eek-bay. They used to be practically given away. Now there's some bloke trying to get $99 each on ebay. I'd love to find an old Coca-cola water bottle. They used to be ubiquitous at races, now they are all in landfills with mold at the bottom.

Yah, saw those $99 bottles in the past few months. really crazy pricing for what went for usually 20 bucks just a couple of years ago, and the bottles he's selling aren't even that rare/special...I remember one of them was a Coca-Cola one...for $99 bucks?, the seller is nutzoid!). He must also be selling those $330+ Mavic stems, bars and derailleurs too! Kinda screws it up for everyone as other sellers start jacking up their prices too and buyers have nowhere to go but stare at ther unsold items for months, waitng for a seller to blink and prices to go down again. Too bad there's no rule in ebay that might control such craziness. Some of these price jackers have been holding their unrealistic prices for at least a couple of years now. So glad I bought my small stash of C&V bottles when prices were still sane.

maybe some decals to stick on blank bottles? its not the same but hey its better then nothing!

I only have one vintage one. An old REG blue one I had hoped would match my Frejus. But for actual use I prefer the stainless Kleen Kanteen, 18 ounce. Not a perfect color match either

I'ved bumped into those TA "Isol" bottles, but with older looking TA graphics on them. I always wondered how the heck do you get water out of them?? They are rock hard/unsqueezable!...I think that's why they remain in my LBS's water bottle bin unsold for years now...even though they were only asking a mere 5 bucks each for them....

Another cage/alloy bottle combo - check out those great springs (no rattles!) Seller thinks these are 40s vintage, and French (purchased via eBay, from France.) There is a makers name stamped on the cage, but I can't decipher it. About 8 letters, but I can't make out any of them to be certain. Would love more info:

I think you might be safe. That bottle is probably pre-PBA. Of course, who knows what they made them out of in the 70's. I remember they didn't smell all that great.

Well, here's my small stash of C&V waterbottles that go with my bikes:

The Peugot bottle is for my 84 PSV, the Vitus bottle is for my 85 Vitus Carbone 7, The Wolber bottle is for any bike I have using my Wolber Profil 20 aero wheelset.
I also found this cool looking Look team bottle that is not so old and could be actually a modern item, but looks nice on any of my bikes and could really pass for a C&V bottle, plus all my bikes, except for the oldest one has Look pedals on them:

I'm now watching out for a bottle for my newly done Alan Carbonio. Not sure if I can ever find an actual Alan logoed bottle, but then I also never expected to find that Vitus bottle a couple of years ago in the bottom of a bin at my LBS......
BTW, I don't actually use these C&V bottles when I ride as they are getting very hard to find and afford these days. I usually take my modern Specialized wide mouthed bottle on any of my rides.
