Does anyone know how to interpret the embossed number and dot]s] on the underside of the bottom bracket, which is also repeated on the fork steerer-tube please ?
Could the number refer to the last digit of the year it was built and the number of dots referring to the actual person who built the frame ?
My frame and steerer-tube has a either a 6 or 9 and four dots.

I’m not sure about the decoding, but I sure would like to see pictures of your Galmozzi! I’m also curious about this dot pattern you mention.

We always mean full on pics of the frame, bike, whatever, aside from the detail shot in question regardless of state, condition, etc.

Sorry, no help on ID but very interested in Galmozzi that we see too few of.

This frame is currently being refinished and I will post photos when finished.
I am now 99% certain, having seen an unrestored 1960's frame with provenance, that the number refers to the 6 = 1960's, 7 = 1970's etc.
From this I presume that the number of dots equal the month, 1 = January, 4 = April etc. or that the number of dots might refer to the quarter of the year, 1 = January to April and 4 = September to December etc.
Unless you know differently !

Well I get it but would think you have been here long enough to know that we live for all of it, the good, bad, ugly and especially the before and after, the transformation is a big part of why we're here.

So far it seems no one knows any more than you so not sure where it goes from here, we have seen very few Galmozzi's here and even less discussion of serial numbers.

I would like nothing better than someone to chime in and explain this in great detail as normally happens with many other marques.

This one has the number 1 and six dots up at the front of the lug: https://www.ebay.com/itm/12508092235...=true&siteid=0 Seller seems to think it has something to do with the racing team numbering (if my translation is accurate. Perhaps 'Squadra Corse' is just referring to the model.)

I can't help you but a neighbor of mine quite a while back had three Galmozzi race bikes in his stable. He was originally from upstate New York but had traveled and worked many years in Europe, so not sure where or when he acquired them. I can clearly remember he has a deep metallic red one, a silver one, and one that was a color very similar to Bianchi's celeste green.

My Galmozzi has no markings at all on the BB. I have only seen a few but none had anything on the BB.
As others have said more pics of the naked frame would be helpful.
