How do you cut ergo cable housings?

For Shimano STI shift housing, I use a Park cable cutter and smooth the cut end with a flat file. A needle or thin nail is used tol round out the inner liner. I assume Ergo housing is constructed the same way and would be cut with the same technique.
A Dremel with a cut-off wheel works but tends to melt the plastic outer layer.
