Once you win, you can't cancel the bid. A bid is a binding contract. You are lucky that the seller is unlikely to come after you for it, but it is still a binding contract. Be a man of your word, that is of way more value in life than all the rest of your CV.

Man, what is wrong with this guy? I been both a seller and buyer on ebay since 1999. I've purchased high end stuff from a motorhome to a $5.00 book bag and sold cars, bikes, computers etc over the past 15 years. Never have I seen someone who needs education on what an auction is than LovestoBike. Please not only leave this community but the ebay one as well ASAP. Clearly the high cost education is NOT WORKING.

I saw this thread before I rode out for class this morning.. I knew it was going to be a trainwreck but I expected the gore to be from the 41.. not the OP digging a hole for himself and acting entitled.
LovesToBike: It's pretty simple you've violated social convention for an auction site, I imagine you were aware of this already and are merely feigning ignorance of what would be considered at best disreputable in your actions. If you really want help and to find the right size bike I suggest you go down to an LBS and buy the proper bike for your price range, they'll help you a lot and you'll learn. Heck you might even be ready to buy a bike online next time.

What a D-bag move. I sent the seller of the Orbea a message with a link to this thread, since you are being so up front with him. I'm sure I speak for many when I say, do me a favor and don't ever buy anything from me. Your ethics are suspect. Good luck in life.
Which is the best bicycle to buy? or if someone is selling a better one for 1k or below, let me know.. hah
Anyways, here are a few bikes I am looking at:
https://www.ebay.com/itm/111283308434...84.m1426.l2649
or
https://www.ebay.com/itm/201040664110...M2229.R13.TR19
I will end up spending 1k-1.1k if I win any of this.
These are the bikes that I could save up to 200-300. I won the Orbea Aqua road bike, you'll see it linked below:
https://www.ebay.com/itm/301100042738...84.m1439.l2648
or
https://www.ebay.com/itm/161233973002....M1414.R5.TR18
(if it falls under 900 )
I actually won the Orbea one for 760$ on ebay. It is 56cm and I am 6'1 and a half.. not sure if I should just go with 58cm :| The reason why I want to buy off ebay is cause used bikes have very good components.

The GURU RL CARBON ROAD BIKE LARGE is really beautiful and has good components. The problem is that size.. but he said that he is 6'0 with plenty of room so maybe it could fit me?
the BH Carbon Connect is 59cm Shimano Dura Ace 9 is 59cm, maybe a good size for me and this bike is also beautiful! I don't think I can get a beautiful bike at local store for 800-1k =\
If I don't win those items, then I will go for orbea and see if I can make it work. The shimano 105 components on that bike looks new.

A good rule is to avoid bike auctions in which the seller is too d**n lazy to bend down and take a photo at the correct level, or in this case, both of them.

Well, he "won" the guru too! I'd rock that thing if it fits.
Get 'em both, see which one suits you better and sell the Orbea on CL anyway.
I guess now that you've gotten the help you need you'll be leaving us. Pity this forum will never grow.

Both bikes are likely too small if he is 6'1.5".

Looks like he won the Orbea auction and is the high bidder for the Guru. Ain't that ****ed up! @LovesToBike, how old are you 13?
BTW I agree with Fred. Also, if you lived in Puerto Rico and went there to high school there is like 99% chance we were in the same school and class!
