10/20 first cross race of season. Coulda shoulda woulda. I didn't even remotely contest the hole-shot because I crashed on pavement in the warmup pretty bad and was hurting and bleeding. The race helped me not get too stiff after, but I couldn't sit around for 3 hours waiting for my single speed event so bailed on that.

Couple weeks then will probably do two races sat/sun when another series is in town.

Had been a while, but given the fitness and crash in warmup, 10/20 seemed alright.

You should do the races on 9/30 - it's a great course.

Cross today. I gave up some racing SS 10min before my 4:5 event, but why the hell is 4/5 so fast? Months left to go masters but geez it is ridiculous racing college kids getting callups for doing the series, which makes sense to do.

I had fun but it’s disheartening getting bottom third results with lap times good for front third results in masters.

Collegiate middle ranks raced in 4/5. College “C”? Faster collegiate in the faster groups. A and B.

Cross isn’t my bread and butter. Of course. But damn I am faster than bottom third in 4/5.

The local only 4/5 I can almost podium now. This is state wide. No idea how that makes it that much faster.

Maybe gravel next year. Seems more of a TT guys thing anyway.

Today’s double up same SS result while sandbagging it by riding just sweetspot best I could. Netted a front third in the 4/5.

In the 4/5, best result possible. They called up two rows of 8. I got around a few on the holeshot but not before someone in that 16 went down and the front 10 or so were gone. I get callups in a series, but 16 is a bit much. How many do they do in crit series?

Lap times for 4:5 front third were still a bit nuts.

If you're racing age for 2023 is 39, you can race 40+ cross. Your racing age is marked at the end of the season - which for cross is in early 2024.
