Biking to the old folks home.

Ready to roll.

Easy parking, although a resident did knock my bike over. No harm no foul.

A very casual gig.

That’s how I plan to check myself in too when the time comes.

Oh wait, nevermind.

I'm certainly old enough. I delivered meals to seniors for a long while. It's great to help em out now and then.

Playing to folks near the end of life in assisted living makes you realize just how sad most good songs are. John Prine stuff particularly.

"Free Bird!!"

It was when they started lighting their lighters to get an encore, and set off the smoke alarms, that things really got out of hand.

My 91 year old mother lives in a nearby senior community, and I'm fortunate to be able to visit regularly. They have a video monitor streaming music in the lobby, and on a recent visit it was playing Led Zeppelin. It made me realize that I'm probably closer to living there than I want to believe.

Raleigh? Which model and year? I love the tire and mudguard clearance on older sport touring bikes, even racing bikes.

That's not a '52 Tele, but it is a nice rig. Both the bike and the guitar.

It's an actual 63 esquire neck on a reproduction fender body. When you roll off the top it almost sound like a jazz box.

Love how you’ve setup the Raleigh.
Is that one of those Ikea bike trailers? (short lived in the US market, sadly)

Good on you!

I've been curious about this - are there any songs that the center has said are off limits? Or certain genres or topics?

My kids did this with the piano a few weeks back.

"Biking to the old folks home"

So that's where we've been headed. I was just following the group. Good to know there will be music when we get there.

Yes Ikea. I use it for any gig where I only need an active p.a. cab, mic stand and guitar. Works great.

They didn't give me any limits but some songs about getting old seem a bit crass. I did randy Newman's "guilty" and no one cared when he talks about getting cocaine from a friend.
