Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

I must admit I haven't experienced that twitchiness on the 6.2 and I've ridden it over 70km/h. But like you said, the isozone makes for a comfortable ride.

...
That's a lovely bike but, isn't is a little strange that a bike shop didn't remove the plastic form the bars before selling it? Sadly it appears they just took it out the freight box, attached the pedals and tightened the stem. If I was you I'd be giving it a once over before riding it.

Even more strange is that they DID take off the dork disk.

Maybe the plastic on the tape is so it doesn't get dirty.

When we build that bike in our shop we leave the plastic on. The white tape gets dirty if you look at it wrong. The plastic wrap is super strong and the bike can be built, adjusted and test ridden without ever removing it. No reason to raise the red flag over that.

Yep, I asked for the plastic to remain on the bars to keep them clean for now. It's cold as hell here this week so I won't be able to take it out for a while. I spent an hour at the shop going through adjustments on the trainer.

'01 Land Shark that I picked up last week off craigslist. I've changed the bars, stem, saddle and wheels, so this is how it sits now.

I understand. It's just I've never seen that before on a bike when a customer leaves the shop. I see the owner mentioned he requested the clear tape to be left on.

No need to be alarmed folks...the Red Flag is down. lol

Finally became mine. She's a ~2003 Merlin Solis with an Ultegra 6500 9 speed triple groupset. I got her for free, in an exchange for my computer aid services. It was sitting in my high school's college counselor's basement. I went over to her house to help her husband with her computer one day, and after telling him that I am into cycling, he asked if I want to take a look at some bikes he had in his basement. I said sure, not expecting for a Titanium bike being sitting in disuse. There was also an aluminum bike (can't remember manufacturer) with 105 5500 on it. He had me take the Merlin home and test ride it before I made a decision on whether or not I would keep it. This happened about 5 weeks ago. Last week, I asked my college counselor if her husband decided he wanted to sell me the bike or give it to me, and she told me that they decided it would be an exchange of services. I'm perfectly happy giving up my time for such a great bike!

Oh wow, that's my exact measurement. The sloping TT makes it look massive. What size is that? 52?

It's a 54cm. The post/saddle combo makes it look bigger too, in addition to the sloping TT. My Trek is a 56cm for reference. Obviously a horizontal top tube.
